Hoster Install Support Need (Who knew?)
Greetings,
Is anyone but me unable to communicate with MTU by using the MTU Help Ticket registration method? Does it even work? I have been trying to communicate with MTU for the past two days for install help with Hoster software on a computer that has had it's hard drive re-initialized and it has been a brutal process :(. All attempts to request MTU help via ticket registration (over 7 attempts) result in nothing, no "instant email notification" that my ticket was received--not even in my "Spam Box" --nothing but a waste of time. I certainly do not have working hours that afford be the luxury of being home at my computer during the MTU "chat hours" --so frustrating. After agonizing my way thru a "missing XmlLite.dll " I am now attempting to use "https://www.mtu.com/support/mp3-instruct.htm" instructions to fix the problem which appears to indicate my computer is not "MP3 ready". From the looks of things, these instructions "might" be useful if I could locate the files referenced within---esp. the file mentioned in the very first step of the instructions, stating: "At right, Left-click on 'x86-Win32 link in the "libmp.3lame section". (Where, at the right????) Where, on earth, are any of these sections where files reside for download (mentioned in these instructions). Am I missing something? Are these instructions meant to be used? At the rate I am going I could not begin to estimate when I can expect to have a workable machine. Further, I am unable to find anything in the Hoster/MTU knowledge base to address this problem. Last but not least, I would like to know how to resolve the problem that prevents me from successfully logging a MTU help ticket for the MTU support I need to install Hoster software I just recently purchased. v/r, GB |

I will also try contacting support for you.
In the meantime see if this helps: http://www.mtu.com/support/mp3-get-lame.htm |
Re: Hoster Install Support Need (Who knew?)
Gwen,
After speaking with you on chat yesterday evening, I found more issues by you not having that xmlite.dll file. I would say all your issues are do to you not having all the Windows Updates installed. That is the first thing I would do, and it may take 1-2 days to get them all downloaded and installed on that computer. As soon as you submit a ticket, you should have an email telling you it was submitted. I just tested and it is working fine, so as I think with your system not being fully updated as much as it can be for Xp that is your main issue. |

Thanks for the advice.
I tried using link http://www.mtu.com/support/mp3-get-lame.htm and was able to download the referenced file to my desktop, attempted to run (as administrator), and was not able to get past the error message provided on attachment. BTW - I am unable to generate a ticket on my home PC either, and it has Windows 7 Professional (???). Regards, Gwen |
Re: Hoster Install Support Need (Who knew?)
Greetings,
In my attempt to establish a back-up computer using the same exact karaoke song (and songbook, etc.) material I have loaded on the Durabook Computer I have been using for the past seven years, I am pleased to say that I have finally gotten past my initial Hoster installation "woes". Now that Hoster (v5.34.01) is successfuly installed on my back up computer (Window XP OS) I am now attempting to perform the steps needed to access the more than 8,000 KMA files originally loaded on my Durabook computer, that is, without having to re-import every single CD all over again. I tried using the Hoster "Index Song Files" instructions but I can not make sense of them. My files are loaded to my backup computer (that is, copied as KMA files), therefore, it seems as though I need to perform the "Index Song File" process to accomplish my need. I've selected that option but I am not sure of the "next steps" (karaoke option = MP3G, or BIN, or?????). What seems even worse, there are various different naming conventions in use with regard to my KMA file names (DiscID, Artist, Track.....DiscID, Track....etc.) YIKES! I feel as if I have jumped into a rabbit hole where I keep going deeper and deeper while trying to come up for air....... As always, any and all help greatly appreciated. |
Re: Hoster Install Support Need (Who knew?)
The Index song files dialog is for indexing new songs.
To index previously indexed songs use the build database dialog, use the Add Folder button or if your kma files are split into many folders use the Add Folders/Subfolders button. Then brows to the folder make sure your in the folder and can see the contents then press select. As it finds each folder it will index them. That should be it :w |

Roy,
WoW! That way easy!! Good to be able to breathe a sigh of relief now that this nightmare is over. THANKS!!!! I finally have a back-up machine to rely on. :g Now my only problem is "no sound". YouTube clips play just fine, however, no sound emission when executing my test karaoke clip--video works just fine. Thanks for all the excelent support. (I think I am about to leave this rabbit hole!) Gwen |
