VCD's and DVD Videos
What are the steps to getting VCD's and DVD karaoke videos into Hoster. I have never in the 3 years of paying for subscriptions, figured this out and I have a hundred or so disks. I just downloaded and installed the latest and greatest (supposedly) Hoster software. You figure in three years they would find an easier way. Oh, and I did a search on the mtu.community for the answer without any results.

Re: VCD's and DVD Videos
You can't import vcd or dvd types directly of the disc into Hoster.
If you open a vcd disc in explorer they usually files with a .dat extension, you have to copy these .dat files to your hard drive then they can be imported under the video option at the bottom of the Import hard drive files dialog use the little drop down arrow and select all types or dat & vob files. Now DVD is another problem, you can't just copy files of a DVD, you need another software to rip the files to your hard drive first these files will have a .vob extension. once ripped to the hard drive you can import them the same as the vcd's. There are many DVD ripping softwares available, there may be some free ones but a lot of them wont rip protected DVDs which most commercial DVD'S have. I use "ImTOO DVD Ripper " and I select the to MP4 format. This is a link to the site: http://www.imtoo.com/dvd-ripper.html You can probable sample it for free for a limited period. DVD video files can be quite big compared to CDG type files so you will need plenty of spare Hard drive space. |

Re: VCD's and DVD Videos
The wording can vary with versions, I'm using the latest version and from the top menu select Import songs then Index song files, earlier versions it was something like import HD files but you should arrive at a dialog to import your tracks.
I made a video showing the procedure, watch that first, here is the link: http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/c26jjTehPq Your files have to be on the hard drive you can't import them strait off the original VCD or DVD's, so as I stated in previous post you have to rip DVD with another software but VCD you can normally just copy the .dat files but you will have to name the files yourself as they are usually just track #. |
