Which version of Hoster are you using?

Can you give us an example of the file name format ?

Can you give us an example of the defined field order your using ?

Also are you importing them via Import Songs/Index Song files dialog or Scan now or from the auto pop menu or some other means ?

Are they in zip format, mp3+g, standard cdg or some other ?

Roy, i'm sorry could you refresh my memory of what you mean by "define field"

Re: Single year Jan-Dec 2013 MP3+G Format

An individual file name could be in many formats too many for me to list but some examples:
Sf-338 - 10 - let her down easy - Michael, George
The define field oder you would have to set would be:
Disc id - Track - Title - Artist.
Your tracks might not have a disc id or track number might just be:
Let her down easy - Michael, George then the definefield order would just be Title - Artist.
Not knowing how the files are named that you are trying to import makes hard for me to advise you what you are doing wrong.
If you can show us an example of how the files are named it might help us to see the problem.

Re: Single year Jan-Dec 2013 MP3+G Format

it would be Title-Artist and disc I.D, this one i am trying to import is a single disc with 3 genres ( urban, pop and country) from Jan-Dec 2013 and it has 264 songs and has 9 song for every month. if you have time you can look it up at Pop Hits Monthly single disc of the year...2013

Are you trying to import these via the Import CD tracks dialog ?
If so that won't work as that for importing regular cd+g disc that only have up to about of 20 tracks on them.

If these are in mp3+g format then you have to import them via the import hard drive files dialog.

Depending whether you import them as kma or kmh types.
If you want to import as kmh types you will first have to copy all the files to your hard drive using explorer because the header file Hoster creates has to remain in the same folder as the mp3 and cdg file.

If you import them as kma then you should be able to import them direct off the disc by browsing to the cd.
Again not knowing which version of Hoster you have can alter exactly how you do it. The version is found from Help/about Hoster.
If yours is a very early version you wont have a kmh option and I no longer remember exactly how they were set up.

When your in the import hard drive files dialog you will see the define field order setup procedure. from your example I would set it to "Title - Artist - Ignore"
it will only import 99 tracks per disc id so you will have to import each genre over 3 disc ids if you want to have the genre entered in the saved data. Then import the next genre on the next 3 disc id's and so on.

Re: Single year Jan-Dec 2013 MP3+G Format

Are your songs on an external drive ?
If so has the drive path changed ? Meaning if they were originally on your E:\ Drive are still.

Again as you don't state your version of Hoster this might not be how yours is. Look in your rebuild database dialog, in the bottom windows it should show a list of all the file paths of all the folders that are in your database if the path is missing you will need to add it back, if the file path is showing with the wrong drive letter then you need to set it back to the correct one then rebuild the database again, or you could re-add it to the list from it's new location then remove the old file path from the list.

It depends on how many different file paths you originally imported from.
If you only had the one for your kma files probably best to just add it again to the list of folders.
If you have lots of different file paths then it would be best to set the drive path back to it's original path to do that follow the instructions here: http://www.mtu.com/kb/kb/index.php?a...&id=4&relid=10

If you change the file path back it will probably be best to delete the new files you imported first as they then won't match the original file path unless they are on the C:\ drive.

Re: Single year Jan-Dec 2013 MP3+G Format

Yes my songs are on ext. hhd. and it's always been the same hhd. letter ( F ) nothing has changed,

Re: Single year Jan-Dec 2013 MP3+G Format

If I uninstall the ext, hhd that i have all the new songs and replaced it with my backup hhd without the new songs, would that work and do I have to rebuild the song database again?

Roy Dennis May 30th, 2014 12:37 PM

Re: Single year Jan-Dec 2013 MP3+G Format

The only way I see that it may not work is if the file path is missing from the list of folders in the rebuild list of folders dialog.

Yes you will need to rebuild again.

Re: Single year Jan-Dec 2013 MP3+G Format

I finally fixed it, I copied the songs from the F drive to another drive and it worked, I am just now thinking of of converting the F drive from KMA to MP3+G
