build database

I copied my kma files from 1 hard drive to another. The computer I'm trying to build database on is win 7 sp1 64 bit I3 120gz 8 gig ram .The system running the original is 32 bit system win 7 sp1 4 gig ram I2 processor. When I start build database it will load 69 songs, then it says scanning then it pops up hoster has shut down and will look online for solution. It will shut down
with no solution .Is the difference in the operating systems and is there any solution besides importing those 12000 kma files from cdgs again

Re: build database

It sounds like there is an error in the next file after # 69.
Does it import the 69 files ? If you can tell what the last song to import was can you remove the next file in the sequence from the drive and then see if it continues after that ?

Looking at your error message it shows Hoster 5.02, is that version on both computers ?
If so you could do a work around so as not to need to rebuild providing your music files follow the same paths on each computer.
If so copy your Hoster data folder to the new computer then it should start as the existing.
If you have 5.02 version then the Hoster folder should be in c:\mtu\Hoster, copy the Hoster folder and paste it over the one on your newer computer, it should now boot up as your old version.

You should still try and find the rogue file that may be causing the original probem as you may have to rebuild at some time.

Re: build database

I thought about the 69 or 70 song being a corrupt file deleted it and several around it no effect.I'm running Hoster5.20.02 on both systems. will look into copying data file and transferring it see it that helps

Re: build database

If your running 5.20 then the data folder is in a different location.
The 5.20 version has a backup feature which allows you to copy the relevant data to a new computer so as to make a clone of your existing.

From the Menu of your old computer choose Help/Backup/Restore
Copy the backup to a usb drive open the same Help/backup restore on the new computer brows to your backup file and select restore.
