Import songs

Hello, I have a problem when I import a bin, zip, mp3+g file into hoster. The imported file when searched for shows up with the artist & song in the song column I am trying to add a screen shot but I keep getting the message that the upload failed, The file is a 24bit picture from paint. Can anyone help me with these problems? Thanks Alan

Re: Import songs

You basically have to set the field separators to match the file your trying to import.

Which version of Hoster are you using ?
Are you importing it from the Import Songs Menu/Index Song files dialog or if using the later Hoster versions from the import new songs dialog that pops up automatically at start up?
Whichever one you use you should see a define field order box where you set the order to match your files.
It sounds like you have the button selected for "Insert Title only(insert full file name) which would do as you describe.

If you aren't sure how to set them paste a file name in to your post exactly how it's named and I'll try to show you the settings.

As to the saving a picture in Paint, use "Save As" and select .jpg as the option then add as an attachment, brows to the file and choose upload.

Alan,
As Roy Stated, you are not setting the Field separator's correctly. If you go to the Import Menu, Index HD Files. You can then import them all here. I would remove the ones you have imported already and import them again, as it will be much faster than going through and editing every song.

Re: Import songs

Thanks. I am going to follow Roy's and see what happens. I have imported 13,000 songs and hoster gave them book id #'s beginning "xyz" so it will be very easy to delete and redo them. I will let you know if this works. Thanks again Alan

Re: Import songs

Roy connected to my pc and show me how to do it and now I got it! I ripped another song and it worked fine. I also asked how to put the last name 1st, then I noticed some of the song had the first name first and the rest had last name first as they should be. I guess I will have to check each disc prior to ripping the disc and write the number and song down so I can edit them later. Also once the field order in scdg ripper it remained that way. Thanks again Alan

Roy, I am once again trying to iomport mp3+g files to Hoster and get the original results as below. I must have changed a setting somewhere. I have the song name - artist in my scdg ripper and song name - artist in Hoster. What am I doing wrong again. Guess I will have to save the inst again. Thanks Alan

Ok I merged the last 2 posts that were in separate threads and will now close this thread as you have sorted the problem.
