Edit Disk ID

Can I edit the Disk ID in Hoster 5.10? I Downloaded some songs from All Star Karaoke and I'd like to change the Disk IDs.

Also, once I import downloaded songs into Hoster, can I delete them from the file I originally downloaded them to?

Thanks
Hawaiian

You can't edit the DiscID once the song has been imported! The text block where it is visible in the edit mode is blacked out, meaning you can't edit it.

However, you could delete them and re-import them and give them another DiscID.

As for deleteing the imported songs from the original downloaded file folder, I can't answer that.

I never delete them, I leave them there for safe keeping...

No you can't delete the original downloaded file if you imported as kmh type. If you re-import as kma then you could but I'm with Kod and would always keep the original.

The original conception for a Disc Id was to tie it to a particular disc. With downloaded tracks it seems less important as they aren't related to a Disc. When you download from All star karaoke It normally has an xxxxx-NV number (Example I'll_be_Waiting-Adele-19970-NV.zip) Not really a disc id as they are individual numbers per song, other manufactures have their own similar numbering.
You can edit the Brand column so you know what version it is or you can set a Book Root id higher than the one it automatically issues, For example if you wanted all your downloaded files to start with a Book id from 1000 upwards, type 1000 in the book id box then press next and it will allocate the next available number above that.

If you use the auto index new songs feature that pops up when you start Hoster it is usual to set the disc id fields to ignore, Hoster then gives it an XYZ0xxxx type number.
As Kod has said, if you want to allocate a specific Disc Id you would have to delete them via the edit dialog then re-import through the Import songs menu/Index songs files. The dialog that opens there would allow you to enter a Disc Id of your choice providing it was unique, you would not be able to use a previous one.
