Latest version of Hoster takes forever to open
 
Does anyone else have an issue with Hoster opening in the latest edition? It takes sometimes up to 5-7 minutes to open.

What kind of cd/dvd drive do you have? You can find this in the tools menu c's/dvd default drives menu. Also did the other versions do this? What version of Windows are you running?

I am not sure what kind of cd/drive I have. I have windows 7 and I have never had this issue with any other version, I have the latest update 5.10. It seems to happen the first time I open it and last week after I had closed it one person asked for one more song so I opened it back up and it still wasnt open after 5 minutes, It does eventually open but not fast enough.

How many songs do you have in your database? My Hester opens within about 15 seconds.

Is it rebuilding the Database each time you open it ?

If so open the Tools/ Songs database dialog, the second window at the bottom where it reads "The songs Database is stored at" what is the path showing in that window. ?

not sure if it is rebuilding each time. The path is C:\Program Data\mtu.com\hoster\songs.mdb took 6 minutes to open today

That file path is correct.
I should try re-downloading the update and installing again see if that helps.

i reinstalled and still does the same thing. One time it opens fairly quickly then the next time it just goes to the proagram start up screen and hangs up there. while reinstalling I received an error 1706 no valid source could be found for product hoster, but then it continued and reinstalled. I am not sure if I should totally uninstall and reinstall without using saved files. Please advise.

It takes a long time for Hoster to load on my computer as well.
