Db Dissapears Everytime I Open Hoster

When I open Hoster 5.10 the program start to scan automatically for songs in the HD and when I click on cancel then my previous DB is gone even though it shows a message saying: " 0 songs were added to your DB. Your previous DB will be restored". I have to rebuild again the DB. I have done this for about ten times since I upgraded to Hoster 5.10.
Can someone help me to fix once and for all this issue?

Thank you

I'm not sure this will fix it, but you can stop the automatic scanning by going to Tool\Songs Database and clearing the window at the bottom of that column. Leave it blank.

Read the instructions that is listed above the text block.

Hope this helps...

What you are seeing is what should happen for new users, or if it doesn't find an existing database.
It seems like it is not saving your database. Open Hosters Tools menu/Songs database dialog. The second window from the bottom shows the path where the songs database should be stored, it should show:
C:\ProgramData\mtu.com\Hoster\songs.mdb. If this is blank or showing another path let us know, it is a fixed address and can't be altered by the user.
But I may be able to tell you how to edit the registry to fix it.
The very bottom window which shows a brows button is the one that Kod was talking about but I don't think your problem is related to that window but clear it anyway.

When you rebuild the database is the list of folders in tact or do you have to use the Add folders button first to replace all the file paths ?

Also check the data folder for the songs.mdb, you can find this from Tools Menu/Hoster Data Folder, look in there for Songs.mdb, if it's there right click on it and select properties and see what size it is in MB or if it's empty. If empty rebuild the database again and repeat the above and see if it reads bigger after rebuilding. If that's is the case then it is not saving the data when you close Hoster.

If your Data base is not saving I would try Re-download the update and re-installing but click the tick box that appears in one of the screens to clear all previous settings, afraid you will lose all your instabutton settings but it will not lose any imported songs, just have to set up the show display and various other things. The first time it starts it will still start rebuilding the database but might be best to let it complete instead of stopping it. That is unless when you checked the list of folders in the rebuild list and find them missing each time.

If you come back can you state your windows version and previous version of Hoster ?
