Re: Emilio

Which version of Hoster ?

Are you importing via the Index Hard Drive file dialog ?

If so after selecting KMH for Type, then Video button, choose folder, if you don't see your video files listed look at the bottom of the dialog is a drop down window for files of type, either choose the type of videos your trying to import or select All video files, when the correct type is selected and you can see all your video files listed press select.

After pressing select, do you see all the files your trying to import appear in the window at the top of the dialog ?

Highlighting one of those files then matching the field separators should after pressing the Add files button populate the bottom half of the window.
Do you manage to get this far ?

After that and you enter any other info you might want then select the tracks you want you press the Index files Button.
Is this where your problem starts ?

If so can you tell us the type of video files your trying to import and give us a sample file name and an example of how your field order buttons are set.

Re: Emilio

Roy I am using Hoster 5.10. Now I just found that the db for cdg files was not rebuilt and I thought it did that yesterday but I don't find any songs from the db when typing in the search box.
as to the first issue I don't get that far. I think I don't understand very well the instructions (they are so vague at some points)
If I have all my songs (cd+g) previously imported in a external hd is it not just a matter of clicking on build db and then follow the instructions to add those songs?
thank you for your help

Re: Emilio

I just looked at the files and found that I screwed them up. I each folder containing the video songs there was only one file per song now i have two files per song: one is a KMH and the other is an MP4 file both with the same name.
Well i don't think the db for video is screwed up but i will have to get rid of all that duplications. Mostly of my video files are MP4.
Mostly of their names appears like this in the folders: Track - Title or Artist - Title, also Track - Artist - Title
Thank you

Open Hosters Tools menu/Song Database/Build database dialog. Do you see a list of all the folders from your imported files in the bottom left payne ?
Note the first directory letter for the file path, this shows the drive letter used to import the songs from.
Now open Windows explorer by pressing the Start select computer or my computer this should bring up another dialog showing all the drives connected, check that the external hard drive shows the same volume letter as was displayed in the list of folders I told you to note.
If it does un select any of the song types in the top window and press rebuild database.

Now if the volume letter doesn't match or there are no files listed in the bottom left pane let us know and well carry on from there.
