Scrambled words are usually caused by minor scratches on the discs that you import. Normal CD/DVD drives are not designed to correct this problem. I had the same problem with some songs when I first began using Hoster and I ordered a CD/DVD drive from MTU, re-imported the discs and it corrected the scrambled words. These drives are designed to do just that and it worked perfectly for me. |
Re: scrambled words
Clean up the disc & re-import, sometimes a slower import speed will fix the problem.

Re: scrambled words
whats happening is the already played words dont disappear. it just keeps going over the top. is this an import issue ?

Is it every song or just certain songs? |
Re: scrambled words
If it's embedded like that in the original disc, nothing you can do about it. I have some custom discs that do that. Most of the time I can get them replaced. But if there is a scratch or something on the disc, it can happen even with a stand alone disc player where the screen doesn't wipe clean before the next lines appear, leaving a completely jumbled and unreadable mess as the song gets further along.
Again, clean up your disc, check for any obvious scratches or debris stuck to it and reimport. If it does it again, play it on a regular player to make sure the disc is playing fine. |
Re: scrambled words
is it possible that my HDMI converter to RCA could be causing this ?
the same files on my back up computer do not scramble. |
Re: scrambled words
Anything is possible. Not knowing much about HDMI connections, I could speculate that might be an issue.
Same files meaning the same hard drive plugged into the backup? Or a copy from that file to the that is on the backup? |
Re: scrambled words
Try disconnecting the converter and play the song in full screen on the laptop and see if it's still scrambled, if it's not scrambled then it could well be to do with that or the connections from it.

Re: scrambled words
even after i eliminate the converter, its still scrambled. could it be the video card ? AMD Radeon™ HD 6450
my back up computer is a carbon copy (all files) of my new computer except its running XP pro not windows 8.1 and all files play perfectly. |
Re: scrambled words
Might be worth checking the refresh rate of both monitors see if it helps.
Right click on blank screen select Screen resolution, select the #1 monitor then advanced settings then the monitor tab mine shows 60hertz and is the only option from the dropdown see if you have other options and try them if it helps with that monitor repeat the process selecting monitor#2 on monitor #2 I do get a choice of settings but mine is set to 60 still. I did a search for your video card and it did mention about some scrambling of icons it seems the fix was a firmware update. |
Re: scrambled words
thanks roy, i will post back
