Song Book New releases doesn't work right
 

I just tried to print my new releases after the upgrade to 5.09.2 and it said I had 98 of them but when I create it says I only have 22 I adjusted the new date range field to 01/01/2000 just to be sure it could find them and it still said 22. I tried different dates and no more than 22. I know I had more than that. Any Help PLEASE? Thank You

Did you check "hide in songbook"? Some of those may be some of the new ones you added that you don't want to show in your books.

no I never use that feature. I don't hide any thing, I keep it pretty simple.

Are the 22 you are seeing one's that you imported after installing 5.09?
The date feature will only work on those that you imported since installing 5.09 as it was not available in earlier versions, the date wasn't recorded.
Also choose the Entire song Book radio button rather than only new release pages if using the date feature or you will limit the choice to how many showing in the counter window there that may have been reset.

Another ways to just print your newer songs till you have used 5.09 longer and more dates become available use the BookId range button and select the starting book id of the first one to print after entering that a second window appears asking for the another book id just select the last one you have.

This is an issue coming from older versions of Hoster. To fix this go to Import Songs/Songs Database and click the Rebuild button on the right. Once this is done all the new features will work.

That's good to know that there is not a problem with the 5.09 release version. I printed "new songs" a couple weeks ago with Beta 13 and all the songs I added in the last 6 months appeared to be there.

Thank You, I will try the rebuild data base. Most of the new releases were before 5.09.

I tried the rebuild data base and it said I had 11610 then when it was done it said it successfully built 11542 and there were 68 dupe bookIds. Then I did the merge dupes it said it successfully merged 65. It then said i had 65 new releases, so I went to song book and created them and none of them where the actual new releases that I needed to print. So now i have no idea what all of my new releases are.

Do those songs match the songs listed as "new" under the Search Option? Which version of Hoster did you import those songs with before upgrading to 5.09?

I think you can print within certain date ranges, so go back a couple months or how often you update and print that date range.

I had the version right before 5.09. I always install the updates when the are released.

Yes, all my new songs show up in the "What's New" section in the search window. But none of these songs are now in the new releases of the song book. There were 88 songs from the last 90 days. After I did the rebuild data base and merge dupes the new releases where songs I have had for years.

Based on your last 2 answers, in my opinion, there may be a problem with the 5.09 version you now have:e. I wonder if anyone else has printed a New Songs list after updating to 5.09:?
Like I said, I printed a new list with 5.09B13 and it appears to be fine, but I would have to compare a few hundred songs to be sure. I will let you know as soon as I get a chance to do that.

I went through the last 90 days in the search box and found most of my songs. But I would suggest to anyone upgrading to 5.09 to make their new release sheets up 1st. Because mine were gone except for 22 of them. Then after the rebuild I lost all of them. The last time I made new release sheets was in march, so thank you for suggesting I look in the "What's new" box. That helped me at least find what song were new so I could make my sheets manually.
I have a second backup laptop that I keep updated but I didn't add the new songs till after the update so I had no problem with it working. What I needed was to know what songs to add to it and I usually print a new release sheet from my main laptop and add those songs to the old. But when that failed I was lost. I download "Legal songs" and that is my only record, other than the download file.

Creating "New Songs" list in the Songbook, before upgrading, is a GREAT IDEA. We always backup everything else, yet tend to forget to do that, probably because many don't even use songbooks. But I find they still save me a lot of time on stage & gives Singers new ideas as well as let them see for themseves when I have purchased their requests.
