Re: Song Editing

Are you sure you did all the previous editing through the Hoster edit dialog ?

I rebuilt mine and all seems OK.

Re: Song Editing

I just tested this also on Windows Xp, 7, and 8 without any issues, as long as changes are made within the Edit Songs dialog. If changes are made directly to the Songs.mdb, then yes they will be lost as they are would not be written to the header of the .kma or .kmh files.

Re: Song Editing

Email me your songs.mdb and songs_backup.mdb they can be found by Opening Hoster, click on Tools\Hoster Data Folder. It will then open you to the correct location.

Send them to support@mtu.com

Basically yes, you don't have to copy your songs.mdb.

If you copied them from wherever you had them to your Windows 8 machine. Then you have to open the Tools/Songs Database/Build Database dialog, then use the Add folder button to brows to where you placed them. Make sure you see your kma's listed in the explorer window then press select and you should see it building the database.
If that's what you did that's It.
If you want all your previous play lists, singers lists then you will need to copy other files to the new Hoster folder, if need more on that come back.

Re: Song Editing

hey roy,

this is what i did.

i went into the import/index files and deleted all the folders. then i went back in and added all the correct folders. then i rebuilt the database. all the editing still wasn't there.

is there a different way to do this ?

or how can i start over as if i just installed the hoster software ? all the song files on the hard drive are from the old xp machine.

Re: Song Editing

In post # 9 you state "i dragged and dropped all my kma to the windows 8 machine"
Are they all kma type files or do you have a lot of kmh types ?
It could happen with the KMH types if you had some of your song type to index buttons selected in the top selection group especially if you only copied the mp3, cdg file and missed the kmh header file.

You may be able to delete the files you originally dropped into the windows 8 machine and try a fresh drag & drop or copy and paste.
