5.09

Just installed it. Searched for a song and "Was not found on the hard drive) came up. Just got finished editing my songs (64,000) Where did they go?

Scared to death, 6 months of work and songs won't come up. Will it work if I go back to old version?

Charlie:?

Have you tried rebuilding your database?

What version did you have before? Email me directly at support@mtu.com so I can try to figure out what happened on your system. What version of Windows do you have?

Send An email directly to support as ask for in post #3.

As something to check out in the mean time, when you go to Tools/Songs database/Build database dialog, do you see all your song file paths listed in the bottom left panel, if so if you select one you should see all the song files for that file path appear in the right panel, do you see this ?

If there are no file paths in the left hand list, open Hoster, select Tools/Hoster Data Folder, look in the folder for HosterInfoIndexed.ini right click on it, from the flyout select "Open With" and select notepad, do you see a list of all your file paths there or is it empty ?
Just X out of this dialog don't save.

This update should have moved your Hoster folder to a new location so check if it's still in it's old locaton which would have been C\MTU\Hoster
If that folder is still there let us know.

Re: 5.09

You never answered the 3 questions in my post #6.
I can't help you if you don't answer questions properly.

As to wrong email, You must use the email address you had when you registered the original version of Hoster.

Re: 5.09

I did answer the questions and was called on the phone and was not home. I was told an email would be sent to me when I would receive another call - it never happened ............

Re: 5.09

That was MTU support you sent an email to.
I am not MTU support so would not have seen your answer.
The 3 questions I asked in post No6, for me to see the answer you would have to post it in this thread.

I may need to ask more questions but need to know those answers first.

Regarding the email back from support check your junk folder in case it went into there.
In the meantime I will inform support that you are still waiting.

Re: 5.09

I was using the prior version on Windows 7. I did not find my database to rebuild. It was found however when I went to Tools/Hoster DataFolder. I Could not rebuild it from there....At least the files are still there.

Yes the Hoster folder has been moved.
You should not store your actual music tracks (KMA, KMH, Mp3+G) in this folder.

Please try to answer this 1 question accurately.

What folder (full file path) did you normally import your music too before the upgrade ?

Example: C:\MTU\KMA files

CKaraoke June 9th, 2013 01:58 PM

Re: 5.09

C\mtu\hoster\laser
c\mtu\hoster\allsongs
c\mtu\hoster\new

and a few other folders changing the last word.

Roy Dennis June 9th, 2013 02:36 PM

Re: 5.09

Right, that's your problem, you saved them in the Hoster folder. That folder got moved with the update.

What you need to do is move them from where they are now.
First create a folder in your C:\MTU Example: All Music
Then move them from the C:\ProgramData\mtu.com\Hoster folder so the file path for your music will then be C:\MTU\All Music\Laser
C:\MTU\All Music\allsongs
C:\MTU\All Music\new

And so on, you should get them out from where they are now.

Then when you have done that, open Tools/Hoster data folder, close Hoster but keep the data folder open.

Look for the HosterInfoIndexed.ini file in the open folder and delete it.
Also delete the Songs.mdb file. if your worried about that just rename it songs2.mdb, Close the dialog.

Now open Hoster go to the build database dialog, un-select any of the song types to index as you only want to index previously indexed songs, then use the Add folder button and brows to your new file paths and add them one at a time if you have done this right you should see another dialog stating adding xxx files to the index.

It should work from that point on if not rebuild the database again.

See how you get on with that.
