I want to completely uninstall Hoster

I am having severe problems with windows 8 and the latest version of hoster. I want to completely uninstall all previous hoster files and do a clean install of Hoster 5.08.11. However, when I use windows uninstall, I have all sorts of registry files left and my new install seem to get corrupted by them. Does anybody know how to completely remove all hoster files in windows 8?

To do this will mean messing with the registry so as a safety thing before you start I should create a system restore point.
After doing that as a secondary backup you could backup the registry, here is a video of how to do that in windows 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8wMrsYBTCY

Once you have done the above you need to uninstall Hoster by selecting the uninstall tick box that appears after starting the Hoster508.11 setup.exe file. this will auto tell MTU that you uninstalled.

After that finishes open C\MTU folder and if it's still there delete the Hoster folder, be aware once you do this all your singers lists and playlist will be lost and probably will not be recoverable from the system restore. Another alternative would be to rename the file to "Hoster Backup", doing this will not interfere with a clean install of Hoster but should you later want to use any of the info you will still be able to copy and paste info from it.

Now comes the registry bit, As I only use windows 7 to get to it in Windows 8 follow the instructions in the video until you get the registry editor open then Follow these windows 7 instructions as near as possible.
If these instructions can't be followed for Windows 8 then I can't help you.

I have read things about windows 8 not allowing certain keys to be edited.
  1. Go to the very top of the Registry Editor. It you already see the Registry Keys expanded below, skip this step and go to the next step. Click the + beside My Computer.
  2. Click the + Beside HKEY_CURRENT_USER
  3. Click the + beside SOFTWARE
  4. Click the + beside Micro Technology Unlimited
  5. Click the Hoster Folder to select it
  6. WARNING! Be VERY careful to have this exact location selected. If not and you proceed, you could damage your Windows installation, requiring it to be re-installed to fix it. BE VERY CAREFUL! With Hoster selected, press the Delete Key Click Yes when it asks you if you are sure.
  7. Click the X in the Top Right corner to close the Registry Editor.
Again be aware doing this you will also lose all your instabutton settings and they will not be recoverable without restoring the original registry.
Assuming you do manage to delete these keys, after doing this I should reboot the computer then reinstalling Hoster.

Thanks for the reply Roy, however I don't see the links for the video. Where do I look for it?
