5.08 & windows 8
I upgraded to 5.8 and windows 8 but not when I click on play button, i get a error message. This happens on any and all songs I select. Using a HP Pavillian dv7-2277cl laptop. I have changed the settings per instruction prior to installing 5.08 (at least as far as I could as instruction don't seem to have been updated for windows 8)
Does anybody have any suggestions to correct this problem? |

Re: 5.08 & windows 8
I know this post is in wrong forum but I don't know how to move it. Anyway, the program works just fine until I plug it into my tv screen. I think it must have something to do with my video setup. It doesn't matter how I have it set (extend, duplicate, pc only or second screen only) When the hdmi cable is pluged in, it won't play any song. It starts to play and then gives me a red error in the status pane.

Re: 5.08 & windows 8
Your in the right forum, I was just trying to lead you to others who are using Windows 8.
Regarding it being a problem when you connect it via HDMI. When you connect via HDMI it sends the audio as well as video signal to the TV. Maybe this is causing a conflict in your settings. Now as I said I'm not familiar with Windows 8, with windows 7 you would go into the control panel/sound playback tab, select the HDMI output and select disable, (This won't affect the video side) then select the Realtech speakers and make them default unless you have an external soundcard then make that the default. Then open Hoster Tools/Audio Controls and make sure the default audio card is showing as the playlist audio card, if not select it and press OK. |
Re: 5.08 & windows 8
I solved problem, the ati mobility radeom hd 4650 catalyst control center had to be updated. I did this by going to AMD website and getting latest control center update and installing it. I had to install it twice but one I had that done, it seems to work fine now. Thanks for the help

Re: 5.08 & windows 8
is14fun, are you using Hoster heavily, professionally with Windows *, or just at home? Have you encountered any other issues with Hoster and 8 or was it just as seamless as using Win7? THANKS!
