dvd rw drive quit while importing a cdg disc
I have a new samsung laptop: Intel I7, 8gb, 64 bit with 1tb hard drive.
I have recently upgraded to Holster 5.06. I loaded the new version after I made the recommended changes for Windows 7. I imported 21 cdg's then on 22 it quit after a few songs. It seemed my computer and or holster had locked up. I resarted my computer and can't get it to recognize any discs in the drive. I upgraded to the latest version of hoster since and ran the test for the drive found in tools...drive checked out "good" Not sure if this is a hoster issue or a dvd drive issue. When I checked properties of the driver it gave me a message under device status: "device is working properly. Windows did not start related device driver. To learn more, click the driver tab and then click driver details" I did this and couldn't figure anything out. I even uninstalled the driver and restarted so it could reload. Still same stuff. I also tried to update driver but stated I had latest installed. The dvd/cd-rom device is a Matshita dvd-ram uj8a7as. thanks Tim |
Re: dvd rw drive quit while importing a cdg disc
After A good nights sleep, the dvd/cd drive is recognizing discs.
Maybe it overheated?? |

After you restarted did you attempt to use the DVDRW to see if it would recognize a disk "without" Hoster? ie: Open Windows Explorer or My Computer, insert a disk to see if it was recognized? |

Actually I left a disc in it and when I rebooted in the a.m. I could see that the dvdrw recoginized it before I started hoster using "My Commputer". Thinking about it some more I had the laptop sitting on my desk on top of a small laptop case made out of material so it probably wasn't getting much circulation. |

Re: dvd rw drive quit while importing a cdg disc
I think I found the answer to my problem. The lockup seems to only occur when a cdg is scratched. After using a tool on the scratched cdg's I no longer had the problem.
