Not a valid bookmark

Hello,

I have version 5.05 loaded onto one of my computers. I am currently copying a library from a version 5.02 machine and am getting an error message of "not a valid bookmark" while bringing songs into the database. Any help on this would be appreciated!

Re: Not a valid bookmark

How are you copying the library into 5.05 ?
You can't copy 5.02 songs.mdb and just paste it into 5.5
The database in 5.05 has extra fields making it incompatible with earlier versions.
if you are using the same external drive for both versions once rebuilt will stop 5.02 working unless you delete the songs.mdb and rebuild it in 5.02.

For 5.05 try this: Open your C:/MTU/Hoster folder, find the songs.mdb and delete it. If your songs are on an external hard drive be sure to connect it before you restart Hoster 5.05, at first it will not open, don't panic and stop it, Hoster will rebuild the database with some extra fields, once it finishes it should open with the data base rebuilt.

I think I had asked this before but didn't get to the precise answer yet. "What is the "precise" earliest version that WILL work correctly with Windows 7-64 Bit??

Don't see this question as being relavent to the original post :r

But you did get replies to your previous query. You could just try them yourself if you have the install files or download the earler versions from here and try: http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster.htm

Re: Not a valid bookmark

Thank you sooooo much Roy!

I'm running Hoster 5.43.01 and recently started getting the "not a valid bookmark" notice and everything went wonky....it wouldn't let me import nor would it update the database.

A quick keyword search in this forum returned this thread which fixed everything.

YAY to you good sir! YAY and thank you!
