Hoster Skipping/studdering

I have done everything I possibly can do with my computer went through every step for window 7 and hoster will play about 4 songs then the song skips. Shortly after the skip the music starts studdering, then it stops and starts playing again. Is there a fix to this problem I have had a computer tech on this and we just can't seem to figure out what it going on with it. I am running hoster 5.03 with windows 7.

Which versions of Media player are you running ?
Which version of Windows explorer are you running ?

If your account allows try the latest version 5.04 that has a few fixes in it.

Are all your music files on the C? drive ?

If so how much free drive space do you have ? it is recommended to have 25% free.
A couple of things worth trying.
Go to Computer, right click on drive and select properties select the Tools Tab then press Check disc first then the defrag tab.

Re: Hoster Skipping/studdering

it has all the latest upgrades. I even uninstalled and reinstalled hoster. I am running windows 7 in this computer. Is it possible that there is a windows upgrade my computer did that could be causing this problem?

Sorry I meant windows update, not upgrade.

It has more than half of the hard drive space. All the music is on the C drive. It does have 5.04 upgrade in it as well.

Did this problem only start when you upgraded to this version of Hoster ?

Have you installed any other programes since this problem started ?

From your previouse reply I take it you are running Media player version 12 and Explorer 9 ? You can tell this by clicking on the Help Tab and selecting about from within those programs.

This has been a problem for a while now, that's why I upgraded to 5.04. I am running media 12 and IE 9. Had this problem before I upgraded to 5.03. Thought it might have been something to do with the sound drivers so the tech uninstalled and reinstalled them. The computer should be running top notch with everything that has been done to it.

There isn't much in this computer. I uninstalled a lot of the programs that I thought could have been doing this. I pretty much have Malwarebytes and AVG antivirus in it.

Not running while Hoster is running?

Re: Hoster Skipping/studdering

In that case I would first try disabling both Malwarebytes and AVG antivirus tempory while not online then run Hoster and see if one of these are causing the problem.

My question would be how much memory (ram) and what is the processor speed? These can be key factors.

Re: Hoster Skipping/studdering

I kinda have the same problem but for me the music studders some times like 1 -2 sec and when it comes back, the lyrics are out of sync, mostly infront of the song like 3-4 sec.

Running windows 7 64bit , latest updates on windowsupdate, and have 75% free diskspace on c: and 50% free on d:

This started happend after i upgraded to the lastest Hoster version the other day. The Laptop has 8 gig ram and dualcore 1.7ghz prosessor.

Im not doing anything, the pc is playing the Karaoke song from hoster, and suddenly it skips and the song is out of sync with the lyrics.

I have music playing from another laptop, so its only when playing karaoke songs this happends, im now at a gig, and it just skipped, i have to restart the hoster to get it to be in sync again, and it goes to it skips again and i have to restart it.

Have you got your spyware, malaware, or virus checking programs running at the same time, perhaps scanning. I f so I should try dissabling them to see if this has any effect. Only do this while off line. If you can identify if it is just one of these you may be able to check some settings in the program to not scan at certain times else dissable while running Hoster.

This thread appears to have stopped. Does this mean that Anti-Virus software was the cause in both cases?

This is the trouble, when people don't come back and answer a response we have no way of knowing if that was the cure. :f
