Issues with Book ID's when copying to new computer

I am in the process of copying my library over to another computer. The issue I am having is when I copy it, some (but not all) of the book id's change. Hoster has reassigned certain CD's with new book id's so that the CD's that were originally there are being pushed farther down in the book id order. The bottom line is my book id's no longer match the printed songbooks I have because of this.

I am running Hoster on Window's XP currently at version 5.02. Any suggestions you have that would help would be greatly appreciated as this has frustrated me quite a bit and I haven't found anything related in the forums. Thanks in advance!

Are these all KMA files or a mix of KMA and KMH?
How did you build your database on the 2nd computer?

They are a mixture of KMA and KMH files. The library has been built over the last five years or so. All discs I have entered prior to 2011 are in one folder and the rest are organized by month. I then copied all these folders and added them in. Should I be separating by file type?

Did you use Rebuild Database or Index HD Files to create the database?
Also were the files stored on the original computer the same way as stated above?
Were you using version 5.02 on the other computer? If not what version is on it?
Are all you BookIDs correct on the original computer? I ask because I am wondering if you already had some duplicate IDs on the original computer.

I used Rebuild Database.

Yes.

Were you using version 5.02 on the other computer? If not what version is on it?
Yes, and both versions were identical.

The best I can gather they are. I took over the task of building the library about a year ago. We had to transfer it once last winter and didn't have the same problem as now. How can I verify duplicate id's? The error log doesn't tie into any of these book id issues I'm having. Thanks!

Was the library rebuilt on the other computer after installing version 5.02 or was the database built in a previous version?
Are you referring to an error log on the other computer or one on this new one? And what is the name of the error log?

Check the list of folders in the left panel list and make sure you haven't got any folders duplicated.

As Dale states if you never used the rebuild database on the other computer then it is quite possible that it would have had duplicates there as well without you knowing.

Are these files on this new computer a 2nd copy of the original files or did you just use the same external usb drive that was used on previous computer ?

If there aren't too many of these wrong book IDs you can now edit individual Book ID # in the edit dialog single mode but understandable you would not want to do a great number this way.
