Re: Hoster crash ..anyone help?

I think the only way anyone would be able to help with this is if you can pinpoint any particular action you are performing just prior to the crash.
Such as deleting, moving, adding songs in the playlist, or while searching the database or something else ??
As you say it only happens very rarely makes it hard to give any ideas.

Another thing is do you have other programs running at the same time ? if you don't need to be connected to the Internet while Hoster is running try disabling your virus or spy-ware programs and see if this stops the crashes.

It looks like you are running Hoster 4.1, would you be eligible for a free upgrade to 4.21 ? as this might be a more stable version.

Re: Hoster crash ..anyone help?

Thanks Roy ...antivirus is disabled , even the wifi card is disabled when running a show , all the changes on here for vista have been done, i do a defrag and disc clean up before every show.

It is really random and not very often , it seems to occur just when a track finishes , its in man mode not auto and it just crashes , start it up again and it just works can go 10 gigs without it doing it and its not track dependant. It just really random!

I don't think it will allow me to upgrade for free.

just wondered if anyone knew easily what this fault was , guessed it would be one i will never figure out or sort and have to live with.

Re: Hoster crash ..anyone help?

I think that problem is a bug in the program that was reported by others, to the best of my knowledge a cure was not found in that version. The only thing that may help a bit is from the Tools/Audio controls set the fade in and out to about 3, or experiment with lower if you prefer it. I believe this helps create a pause in the music finishing and restarting.
The bug was corrected in the latest version 5.01

Another bug in that version 4.10 Hoster Would Crash Within 30-40 Seconds - There was a bug. If the Show Display Intermission View checkbox for Always On was disabled, within 30-40 seconds the Time fields in the SND would try to be incremented for the next minute (during Intermission only). Since the Intermission was disabled, the Time fields were missing and the code would crash. This is was in fixed 4.11

Re: Hoster crash ..anyone help?

I am having the same problem with 5.01. It shuts down after the song is over. Sometimes it does it once a show and other times it shuts down several times during a show.
I have the Ruggedized Laptop from MTU.

Then perhaps you should report it in the thread for Hoster 5.01 problems http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?t=12610

I thought this had been cured now.
