Always on Top is annoying - changed in 5.02
 

Please remove the code that allows the preview window to "always be on top" of everything. Often I will be running Hoster and OtsDJ at the same time as I do a wedding with karaoke. This is such an annoying feature that you added. Make a check box in the options or setup dialog to allow for an "always on top" selection if someone would want it. Many of us do other things while running a KJ show. :f What made you think "we" would love this feature? When I run the 5.01 and open a singers and search dialog I have to move them somewhere else because the preview window (yes, undocked to allow me to look at the computer and see the words) is covering them and I cannot get it to go away without making it a "docked" option.

I also agree with this, it should be an option to stay on top only if needed, it just gets in the way, is there a registry key that I can change to deal with this now?

Joe, I sure hope the Admin is reading these and takes this request to heart. I know this must be very annoying to others. Maybe the programers should run Hoster with the preview window undocked and see how much work they can get done as they move the window from side to side. :e

Also the singers database and search menu, I keep it opened on shows and switch between them...

It has already been changed to be a checkbox in the Tools > Songs Display > Preview tab so you can enable/disable it.

It will be in 5.02, which we should have early next week (Monday is a Holiday). We won't need much beta testing on this one so it should release within 2-3 weeks.

So what's your point Joe? You haven't made a request here, only a whatcha-macall-it partial statement. :? :r

I guess the Singers dialog and Search dialogs are what you mean as this the way to access the "Singers Database" and there is no such thing as a "Search menu" in Hoster.

Symantics Boys... Joe is only complaining about the always on top feature of the preview screen partially covering the main screen when pulling up the singers database, or the song search feature, IF you have undocked and resized the preview window as many of us have done, in order to create a preview screen that is large enough for the host to sing from, or can resize it on the fly...

Now let's get on to the meat of this thread... Can the preview screen be undocked, and left on the screen whether on the left or right hand side, and when another task is pulled up... the preview screen is not on the top, and partially covering the wanted screen or function?:)
