Dual Monitor Processing - Windows 7 Premium Home OS

I have been working (for two days) at trying to figure out how to set up for dual monitor processing on a laptop that has a Windows 7 Premium Home OS.
Can anyone help with detailed instructions?

I've done multiple searches (Google) and see the "Detect" and "Identify" features I keep coming across in my search results, but I can't seem to make them work.

I'm using a (double end) VGA cable that connects to a HP laptop.

Thanks in advance!
Gwen

Assuming your cable is OK :r connect it to both your computer and the external monitor then switch on both. If your external monitor is a TV with VGA input you will have to use the TVs source to select that import type first. Once your computer has finished it's startup procedure, right click on an area of the desktop that is clear of any icons and you should see a small window open with a selection of options, one being screen resolution, click on this to open the dialog. If your cable connection and your second monitor are connecting properly you should see 2 monitors displayed in this view. If not then something is wrong with either your cable connection or the second monitor. If it is showing 2 monitors highlight #2 and you should see another box appear at the bottom named "Multiple Displays" use the drop down arrow at the side and select "Extend these displays" press Apply. Now if you press the top identify button you should see a big #1 on one monitor and a big #2 on the extended monitor just for a few seconds just long enough to see that they are displaying correctly.
Now if all above has gone correct you can start Hoster, Make sure you have the singers display box ticked to always on in the show display settings dialog. When you see the singer display appear on monitor # 1 double left click in the middle of it and it should appear on monitor #2. Alternately place the mouse pointer in the middle of the singers screen left click and hold the button down and drag the singers screen to the right hand side of monitor 1 and you should see the outline appear on monitor 2. Once it is placed there by this method you should be able to grab a corner and stretch it to fill the screen.

if you're using an lcd type tv, and using a vga to vga cable or any other type of cable, you need to select the pc as the source.
