Title Page

I just installed the newest version of KHP on a windows xp machine. The machine is brand new with 1.4 gzh processor and 256 meg ram. I am haveing trouble with the title page taking way to long to display. The song starts, and is maybe 15 seconds into it before it finally goes away and the lyrics show up.
Any thoughts as to what I need to do or if I have some setting wrong?
I have been reading these forums for the past few days trying to eliminate questions once I installed everything.

Thanks,

Jerry / The Newbie User

Are you playing these created CDG's in Microstudio?

bassn99 June 20th, 2002 10:32 AM

I hope I don't sound to ignorent on some of these terms, as I am very new to this whole process. I am using KHP, I import the track, import the lyrics, click on settings and add a title page.
After placing the lyrics, I press the play my song. This is where I am seeing all of the problems.

More info please...

Jerry,

Have you read in the manual about the size of the graphics? If you are importing a very large image with more than 10 colors this can cause the graphics to take longer to draw. That is part of "CDG" operations. It is best to have your image the size indicated in the manual. and try to reduce the colors to 10 or less (fewer will draw faster).

I have indeed read the manual, and will continue to read it in more detail as I progress.
This is all brand new to me and very exciting. I have a very large collection of cd+g's and backed up my first last night on the first try with Microstudio. I am very anxious to use Vogone and KHP to produce some songs that are currently unavailable by mfgs.

Thank you for the replies, and I will be reading and experimenting more and more each day.

You're probably going to want to beat me with a wet noodle for asking a question so basic, but have you specified the display time you desire in the little window where it says "display for" ?

I'll go hide now:g

Hey George,
I'm glad to see you jump in there. I have been reading so much in these forums trying to get up to speed and have read several of your comments and suggestions. Very helpful!

I left the display time at the default at first, then I tried changing it to a lessor number. The amzing this was, when I disabled the title page, and hit "play my song" it played great!

I'm sure I just need to play around with it some more.

Thanks,

Jerry

Please tell us about your processor...

Jerry, KHPro automatically adds silence to delay the start of the music to allow the graphic to draw, including any Display For: delay you specify.

Thus, "in theory" you should never see the delay you are reporting. Please post what your processor type and clock speed is so we can see this. It might be that is causing a problem while the delay is computed the first time you add the graphic image. :?
