Re: Hoster 4.32 first run

Are the shutdowns occuring at the end of a song playing? If so this has been reported and MTU has looked into it and has not been able to duplicate yet.

Your background color problem is not a Hoster problem. It is a problem with either your video card settings or with your monitor.

Crazy carl

No one else has ever reported a color change problem at all in Hoster. That is why I say it is your video card. Did you try any other colors to see if they came out right in the marquee?

Re: Hoster 4.32 first run

After you make a color change in the Marquee dialog box are you clicking on Apply? Other than that I do not know what your problemwith this is. Guess you will have to wait and see what Support says.

Re: Hoster 4.32 first run

i have tried to change the color at least 50 times, i must have pushed the ok-apply buttons in the correct order at least once. As far as support goes, they don't respond to my tickets, at least not the last two of them. I think Mtu support is lost, it has become the sales department now. They seem not to care anymore.
Crazycarl

I keep reading from Admin how wonderful 5.0 is!!!! My thought on this is why fix the broken Hoster 4.??.?? when they can just sell another upgrade. You Know the almighty $$$$$$

I already know that you or Admin will close this post, because one of you don't like critizim on the forum. And after it is closed, one of you will respond, getting the last word in.
and I will be left with a poor product,

i think in order for the color change to work was you have to closed and open hoster once you've change the color....

Billy this is incorrect. The only thing you have to close and re-open Hoster for is the Preview screen when you dock or undock it.

my bad, that's why i said " i think " since most of the time when you make changes on something, in order for it take effect you either need to closed or re-start ..but anyway i have never had problems with Hoster ( old version anyway )..just trying to help..

How does having trouble with one color change make this a poor product? If you do not like the way it works then you can always switch to any one of several other products available for running karaoke shows. Hoster 4.32 has been one of the most stable and problem free versions yet.

Hoster 5 is being developed to bring out many more additional features that have been requested and not as a fix. Since you have recently purchased an upgrade then version 5 when released will be a free upgrade to you. That is what the 12 month upgrade does for you.

Support is alive and well. Consider that you sent in 3 tickets all for the same thing, why should they answer each and every one. Did you get an automatic response message for each one of them? If not then either you or your email provider was stopping those messages or you did not complete the ticket correctly which would prevent it from getting to them.

I will not close this thread as long as you can remain civil and want to discuss you exact problems. I will work with you on those problems, but only if you stick to the program problems.

HOW does it shutting itself off 3 to 4 times a night, and every day when i first turn it on make it a great product.
Also you have already told me You can't help with the shutting down, MTU is working on that.
And the solution to my marquee problem was, bad video card

I did not say you had a bad video card. I said "Your background color problem is not a Hoster problem. It is a problem with either your video card settings or with your monitor." It could be nothing more than a setting.
There are so many types and configurations of computers that there is no way I can know what exactly you have for components or how you have your computer parameters set. I don't know why you cannot change your colors in the marquee and only the marquee. But since you are the only one having this problem then either it is your computer, something is not installed correctly or you are not making the changes correctly. I am not there with you to be able to determine which and neither is support.
The shutdowns only occur at the end of a song, and as others have reported it is random, but does not disrupt their shows.

Regarding your shut downs after song plays, open Tools/Audio Controls and set the fade durations to be 1.5 or greater for both boxes, Auto delay can be what you prefer, press OK. this may help with that problem.

Regarding the colour change, this has never been reported before to my knowledge, are you doing it correct ?

This is the procedure from my computer.
1: Click the Marquee Tab on the main display.
2: Click the colour button.
3: Colour grid opens, select a colour square, the selected colour should show in the small box marked "Color/Solid" next to the Hue, Sat & Lum figures, if it doesn't let us know.
4:Press OK. Then after that window closes press Apply in the Marquee Setup window, after a short pause you should see the colour change.
5: Then press OK in that dialog.

Re: Hoster 4.32 first run

Carl, you don't need to be bantering Dale here.

First, you sent an EMAIL to sales... that is one of your complaints. That is NOT one of the ways to get Support; i.e. you did not follow our clear instructions on our Support page.

Second, when you submit a 2nd, 3rd, etc. ticket onto your 1st ticket, it bumps your DATE to the current date. We answer the oldest tickets first. So, don't submit more on the same Ticket. If you submit a NEW Ticket for the same problem that only delays our answering the first.

Please be forewarned, we don't deal well with continued insults, which you have done to us for years now. We provide the best support in the Karaoke software industry. You didn't buy your computer from MTU so it is harder to try and get you working.

We have answered your Sales and Support Tickets, and will post them here shortly, in case you don't get our emails. You will see you never mentioned the "Marque color" problem to MTU, only to your peers.

If you need our help in the future, submit a SUPPORT (not Sales) ticket and we will do our best to answer you. If it is not our software, we probably can't help you.

Re: Hoster 4.32 first run

I purchased my laptop from MTU, my Hoster program shuts down on me at least twice a show sometimes more. It is always after the song is over. Now it has started stopping the music during a song for about a half a second and then starts right back up. It is just enough to mess up a singer. It doesn't do it often but once is too much. Last night it did it once and shut down on me three times. I have not changed anything or added any new software to this laptop it only has the software that MTU installed. I have done all windows upgrades and installed the hoster upgrade.

Susan try what Roy Dennis posted about the fade settings.

"Regarding your shut downs after song plays, open Tools/Audio Controls and set the fade durations to be 1.5 or greater for both boxes, Auto delay can be what you prefer, press OK. this may help with that problem."

The issue Susan is referring to is a bug. We have fixed this and it will be released in version 5.0.
