Song Database files from Hoster 3.303 missing after Hoster 4.32 install
After installing Video Hoster 4.32, I was not able to locate any of the 10,000+ songs entered over the years that were access under the old Hoster 3.303. Why ?

Were these song files on your computer C/drive or on an external hard drive ?
Upgrading Hoster does not delete your existing .Kma files. First go to your Tools/Songs Database and choose rebuild, in the window that opens are there any folders listed ? if so try rebuild songs database. If there are no folders showing in this window you need to locate where you stored them. you need to determine were the folders are containing the .kma files. You can use the windows search feature to locate them, just enter .kma in the search box and it should locate them. If they were on an external drive then you have to use the search feature on that drive. You then have to go to Tools/Songs database and choose rebuild, choose add folder and navigate to the folder that you found in windows search then rebuild Songs Data base. |

Could be because 3.30 was a pre Vista release and they have changed where Hoster reads the files from so the newer versions you will need to find where you had your kma files before & point Hoster in that direction, then rebuild.

Re: Song Database files from Hoster 3.303 missing after Hoster 4.32 install
Thanks for your input. I was never able to locate the KMA files. I suspect that the update from Hoster 3.303 (on Windows/XP) to Hoster 4.32 (on Windows/XP) bypassed a fix previously noted by a Hoster user on the Hoster help blog. Instead, I located my current playlist/song database backup and restored them and then rebuilt them. Everything worked well after that.
