Wmv Files

For the first time, I downloaded a WMV file from Chartbuster. I imported it from the hard drive (hoster 4.31). Here is what is strange, when I play it in the edit song screen I just get audio, no graphics, not even a blip. When I play the song from the playlist screen everything works fine. It is the only WMV file I have so I can't try another to see if it is the file or something is 4.31. It isn't a real issue as long as it works from the playlist screen. Thought I would post this and see if anyone else has a WMV file to try. When I downloaded this file I had a choice of MP4 or WMV. I don't have any experience with MP4 and wasn't sure if it would work in Hoster. Don't even know what MP4 is. :s By the way, I have tried to download files from this company several times and they never download. I have to call them and they email them to me. They said there site is a beta version and should be completed in October sometime.

As a general rule, "Videos" do not show in the Preview Screen, but will show on the Singers Display. That is normal. MP4's I believe are for IPods only. If you have a choice, get MP3G files. Depending on your computer, sometimes WMV files will not show on the Singers Display. The Manual explains all this in better detail.

Walt, basically the play in Edit is to set start and end points manually for Removing Silence. I don't know for sure but this may act same way as the Preview in not showing video. The problem there was that Preview would lag behind the Singer's Display, so MTU fixed it so it would not display videos in the preview.

Mp4 videos play fine from the playlist and display properly on the singers display on my windows 7 laptop. Video files do not show on the preview screen or from the edit preview screen.
The only videos that show in the preview screen from my experience are ones played from an instabutton but that is limited to just a few formats not Mp4. :?

Thanks for saying that these play for you. I really didn't know what Mp4's are.:t ... why I suggested he read the manual. I'm really only familiar with a few of the long list of video formats that will play in Hoster.

Yes, this is true. Videos do not show on either the Preview screen in Edit or preview screen on the Playlist.

However, I use Play in the Edit screen all the time, long before remove silence was ever added. I find it extremely useful also to verify that the song I just imported is the same song that was actually listed on the CD. It's also a great way to preview songs at home just to help me decide which version I like best. :g

Ok, so if the file is a WMV, even though it only shows the lyrics, it is considered a video? It that is correct then I understand why it only played the audio. I guess I never considered lyrics a video but what you are saying makes since.

Thanks

WMV and MP4 are video formats. Some of these Karaoke files will have background pictures or just the standard looking karaoke lyrics displayed, but they are done into video.
