Have you had it going correct on your previous system ?

Have you done all the recommended changes and updates before installing ?

yes to both questions. Microstudio plays my KMA files just fine. I was told that it is probably the videocard drivers but if thats the case then why does microstudio work just fine? And I still dont have any emails from support?

Regarding support, they have a ticket system, if you fill in the card correct you should get a support ticket # back. If you haven't you have either done something wrong or you need to make sure your service provider isn't blocking MTU emails.

Regarding your problem, as I have not herd of this particular problem before it is all guesswork to offer advise, which is probably why no one else has answered as well. You could try an earlier driver as there was a problem with some new video drivers from nvidea although the problem was different to yours.

Just to help us understand more about your set up.
Are you using this in extended mode ? if so remove the extended monitor and concentrate on single view.
When you say you just have blank boxes, can you see the marque at the top if you enable it (settings are in Tools/show display) or the singers list window at the bottom, again settings are in the show display.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is to check your screen resolution, try a different resolution. or go to your nvidea control panel and see if there are any settings there that may help. not having your video card cannot really tell you how to check it.

Sorry I can't be more helpful at the moment.:f keep us informed if you find anything.

Roy.

To answer your question about Microstudio playing them and Hoster not, they do not use the same player setup so you are comparing apples and oranges. All this has done is found out your files are ok.
The up to date drivers for Nvidia cards is the problem. Go to there website and try one of the older drivers listed. For some reason the newest driver from them messes up the video.

DDouglass is correct. I have a NVidia card and went through the same problem where all the words are blacked out. Roll back to an older driver, and that fixes the problem.

I have NVidea also. I have a strange problem, but I have learned to live with it. I can play .wmv files and they will show on Singers Display, except when I try to play them though an InstaButton-then all I get is a tiny block with video so small it can't be seen. So I only play them in the Playlist now. It should be in the Specs/requirements (it may already be there) - don't buy a laptop with NVidea:).

Hey Skybird, sorry I don't have any experience with that. The only time I play any type of video, (other then karaoke graphics), is when I play animated gifs in between songs, or when I dj a few songs before getting karaoke going at the beginning of the night.:)

NVidea cards have caused a variety of different problems and mine doesn't even offer any updates any more.

BTW, how do you play animated GIFs in between songs. Do you use the same one on the Intermission screen, or have you found another way. My Vista laptop already uses so many resources, that I have stopped displaying one in-between, because it also causes Hoster's CPU to go up, so I found a nice "still" pic that everyone likes to see in-between songs.:)

I use it on the intermission screen also. I have many different ani-gifs that I use for different occasions like Happy Birthday, X-mas, ect., and quite a few for normal everyday usage. I have found that some of the more complicated ones will cause the picture frame rate to slow down when you expand the intermission screen to full size. I also have a bunch of stills that I occasionally display because they look so cool, I just wish they were animated. Right now I'm using one that I call "wormhole". It looks like you're traveling through it while the wormhole snakes up and down.

PS. NVidia cards have given some problems in the past. As far as your card, if it's working for you, I wouldn't worry about them not offering updates. Once I rolled back my driver and got it working, it stays like that. I will not update in case something else goes wrong.

Cool. Thanks! The Eagles crowd will like it, but at the VFW, it might make them too dizzy. LOL

PS. I have another gif you might like, but I would definately test it on your computer. This one is of a flaming eagle, but it's one of those that I told you is intense and it may cause issues with frame rates. I'll also upload a couple more which you might like.

Yeah, sorry about that. You do have it now, and if you like I can give you quite a few more. In fact I'll add a real cool birthday one, one with stars, and a sparkly flag. Also, I need to start getting ready for Halloween, so when I find those, I'll get some to you probably sometime this weekend.
Sorry, the birthday one I tried to load up said I've already loaded it in the forum under Hoster>Visualizations, so go through the forum and it should be there. Instead, I loaded flying into colored beams.

Emilio please remember anything you upload here needs to be copyright free, otherwise you are not free to pass them on to others.

Emilio, it is really nice that you are sharing all these with us. I have the "sparkling flag" I use a lot also. It was embedded in an e-mail that was being passed around & I was able to just right click & "save as", so I'm guessing it is "copyright free".:r

Dale, maybe it would good to move this to "Singers & Hosts Wisdon" to share with everyone. What do you think?

Dale, every one of these are free downloadable animated gifs. Some are originals that were made by this one guy, and he allows you to download them free from his website. Others are ani-gifs that he downloaded from other sites that are royalty free and he added more to them to make a totally new gif. If you look online, there are many places to get these gifs royalty free.:g

Skybird, you're right. I think the sparkling flag was passed around here in the forum. As far as all these ani-gifs, that's all you have to do is right click and save as to a folder of your choosing. Here are some more:

Ok, just wanted to make sure. We don't need MTU getting in trouble for having copyrighted material on their forum that isn't theirs. Thanks for the GIFs. I have been grabbing them too.
Don't think it is necessary to move this yet. Do you have a particular site you get these from?

Dale, I just put in ani gifs and it brings some places up. Just need to check them to make sure they're royalty free. They mostly are. In fact if you look at some of them, you'll notice that multiple sites have alot of the same gifs because they are free for the taking (royalties). Most have fairly simple gifs, but there are a couple that have some really nice ones. www.animated-gifs. is a real good one. Another thing is, when you save them, you might want to rename the gifs, because they're normally numbered and it makes it hard to know what you have once you get a bunch of them. Enjoy!
