v4.22 Failed to load
 

i did all the changes before i upgraded my back-up laptop.. installed 4.22 i got it running put in 15 songs ..1st song , 1st verse was fine, till it went to the 2nd verse, hic-cups, tried another song,same problem, but this time no stuttering. so i figured, i removed and re-install, well progress bar goes almost to the end then i got an error msg..ERROR NUMBER 0X80040702 DESCRIPTION: FAILED TO LOAD DDL:_ISMTU ,closed hoster, re-started my laptop, ran registry mechanic..no error was found.. tried to re-install v.4.22 again,( 4x),same error msg...tried to re-install v4.20/21 thinking i probably had a bad v4.22..i got the same error msg...went back and re-install v4.11 it went w/o any problem..

Billy did any of the Microsoft updates fail? Also did you go check it once or twice? I know the Netframework updates had 1 for each version and would not install all of them at the same time as each needs a restart.
Also re-download the Hoster installer from MTU. You may have gotten a corrupted download because of Internet dropped data. It does happen.

none of them failed, as a matter of fact i loaded the same directx and wmp that i had on my show laptop on my back-up 2x, thinking that i might installed the wrong one's..same w/ v4.22 thinking i installed a corrupted download..but anyway i will try that..thanks

hoster installer, do you mean the 4.22setup.exe, if not where can i find it, i've tried to re-install it again ..same error msg.

since i couldn't load v4.20/21/22 last night ( tried all night ), i went back to 4.11, but this morning i went on to play a video file on 4.11 when i clicked on play , the video file gets deleted,i tried to load 4.22 still get the same error, tried 4.20 it went w/o a problem.., loaded 4.21 no problem..tried to load 4.22 again..to no avail...same error

When you are installing it are you using Upgrade or are you removing the old version and then Reinstalling the 4.22 Version?

when i first loaded i did the upgrade, and everything went fine, but then i had alll the problems, i removed it, then i re-installed, that's when i started getting all the error msgs...progress bar goes almost to the end i'll get an hr.glass for a few sec. then the error msg. pops..if i install the prior versions 4.11/20/21 .

sorry about the dbl post, i didnt finished what i was saying on previous post ( had to signed some papers.for a new house ) but anyway like i said when i re-installed prior versions 4.11/20.21 they all went w/o a problem..

billyo, just wondering if you ever got your v4.22 up and running? And i did recieve your private message. Thank you, and i agree 100%. Make sure you let us know what they found out about your link ok? I had link problems as well. George

i have no problem installing v4.22 on my show laptop, i just couldn't install it on my back-up, MTU said that they will look into it, that was 4 days ago. someone else has the same problem, which make me feel better, i thought i was the only one with the problem.. but anyway i just have to wait for mtu, see if they can or have a fix for it..if not, not a big deal i still have v.21 that works pretty good.since i don't really use most of the new features on the upgrades.

Billyo, there only one addition to an existing section and very minor at that. All the rest of 4.22 was fixes for long standing problems. No new features were added.
You know this is not wide spread as only two have reported this. You know they would have been screaming about it if they couldn't install. You have done all the updates I understand that. Have you tried doing a registry clean-up, defrag, etc.?

Dale, i've done all that,i did the registry 2x with the registry mechanic and the norton, defrag.my hhd, i did the netfarme 3.5 family updates, etc.tried installing it a # of times,progress, still the same error msg., bar goes almost to the end, then i get a hr. glass then the error mgs. ..i don't think it's my laptop or the lack or updates, but like i said , it's not a big deal, v4.21 works fine, and if worst comes to worst, i'll go back to v4.11

Try downloading anew copy of it. Otherwise I don't know what is going on, but if one computer loads it and the other doesn't then something is wrong with the download or something is different in this computer that is keeping it from finishing the install.
I have one computer that some websites will tell me to download and install IE8 to use their program and I have IE8 already installed. I don't know why they don't recognize it, but something isn't registering right obviously as I have three other computers that load the same things with no problem.

thanks for the adviced, i'll do that as soon as i settle in the new house, i got almost everything packed, most of my dj gears/ computers are all secured, except for my everyday use, cancelled all my show dates..but anyway..thanks

I just tried to upgrade and install this version and received the same error message on ONE of my two computers. My Acer it worked fine.

I get the same erorr for MicroStudio upgrade as well.

My Sony VAIO got the error. I did a full update of windows and tried again. Same error. Its missing a DLL: _ismtu
The Error number is: 0x80040702 for Microstudio and Hoster.

Running XP home SP 3.

i guessed it's gonna be a while before we can get an answer, since there's only 3 of us that are having the same problem, see if you can re-install the prior version,

How old is your computer having the issue? Mine is quite old but a good solid performer. I bet its 7 or more years old and has been upgraded with memory a couple times.

My Acer is newer and Hoster installed ok on it. Seems there might be some sort of windows issue but I am a loss as to what it could be. I have done all the windows updates that I can find.

I sent in an email form to see if they can help me. Will keep you posted.

both my show and back-up laptops are about 3 yrs. old, as a matter of fact i just paid $180.00 for an extended 1 yr on my show laptop ( i had a 2 yr. contract , that will expire this month )) both has all the updates ,except fpr sp3, has plenty of hhd space, i was able to upgrade my show laptop, upgrading went just like that, no problems..

Have you tried ticking the box as you install to clear all existing settings?
Just a thought, don't suppose it would help.
