Windows sidebars
 
where on Windows 7 is "Windows Sidebar" Trying to set up new laptop. MTU says I must turn this off to avoid distortion. Help.........

In a lot of the new windows 7 there is no sidebar. If you go to start help and type sidebar in you get this message:
Windows Sidebar isn't included in this version of Windows. Instead, you can display gadgets on your desktop. For more information, see Desktop gadgets: frequently asked questions.

I think it was in Vista.

Does it show a Sidebar on the right side of the screen?

So it appears you do not have it and don't have to worry about that item.
