Windows 7 with MP4 video in Hoster
I have recently acquired a new computer with Windows 7 operating system and am just experimenting with it at the moment. I still have my XP show computer that is running flawlessly so this new one will be as a reserve in case of failure. My XP has the k-lite codec pack installed and seems to run all types of video formats with no problems.
I have not yet installed the K-Light codec pack onto my Windows 7 computer yet as it seems to play all the video formats with the exception of MP4 which are the ones I mostly use now In my shows. They play perfect in Windows Media Player and another DJ program I have so as I see it the codecs are there. As a last resort I will install the K-Light codecs but don't really wont to if there is another simple way. Has anyone else found a way around this, perhaps changing some settings in Windows 7. Re: Windows 7 with MP4 video in Hoster
I found this explanation about windows 7 and the MP4 codec being native in the new media player but is locked in and not available to third party programs.

Re: Windows 7 with MP4 video in Hoster
Just to keep every one up to date, I installed the K-Lite_Codec_Pack_570_Basic on my Windows 7 computer and all is well & my MP4 videos are playing OK.:):c:)

Re: Windows 7 with MP4 video in Hoster
This will also help for those using Windows 7 and the current version 4.11. The key here is Windows 7 has a codec for MP4 in its WMP (version 12) but they are locked for use only in that program and ITunes.
By installing the K-Lite Codecs Pack then you circumvent that problem for MP4 playing in any other program. |
