weird thing happened on my singers database

i have the songs i sings on the singers database, ( no one else just mine )2 days ago after copying all my kma files to a new hhd ( dropped the old one:m), i noticed that there were some songs added in it, songs that i never sang, and some of them didn't even have the tittle, just the brand name...

Considering that copying the files would have nothing to do with either database files (Songs or Singers), my guess would be they were already there or the Singers database got corrupted some how. You should be able to clean it up in Access without hurting anything or having problems later as you would with the Songs database.

no they were not there , you're probably rght the singers db somehow got corrupted ,i ended up just deleting them , i also noticed that some of the song i do was somehow dis-appeared, but anyway it's not really a big deal, just wanted to know if anyone had this problem before, and havent noticed it.

I have occasionally "lost" songs from my song list. This has been an ongoing problem i just live with since Hoster 2.00. I use the same list, keep songs is checked, but, occassionally one "disappears". I reload it using search and all is well for awhile. Always a different song. Friday i did Elvis "It's Over", sat nite show it was gone from my list but in the database.
Anybody else?

i had never used the singers db before, so i didnt know if this was an existing problem, this only happened when i copied my main hhd to another drive to replaced the one that i dropped..and i also noticed that, when adding songs to the main playlist, and typing the singers name on the playlist window, it somehow gets added to my sdb.i don't have any names/songs on sdb except mine and my songs.

Losing Songs

I only "lose" songs from my personal playlist or show list. don't do karaoke so i cannot address that. The "Lost" songs remain on my main database, it is just a hassle to put them back on the playlist when you need it the most.

The only time I lose songs in my singer database is when the 'finger gremlin' operating the computer (yes that would be me) messes up.

i dont know if i lost it that way, since all you have to do is clicked on the title and add track, but anyway not a big deal, songs are still on my song db,i guessed i'm not the only one having this problem and this been existing for a while, it's just i havent read anything about it.

The only problem before this with the Singers Database has been the addition of "Null" singer's names and the inability of being able to delete them. That was fixed.
I think yours was a corruption of the file. It sounds like it scattered the data someway into different records.
The Singers Database stores in the Singers Table 3 things. A unique SingersID (ID number), Name, and date added. In a second Table called Songs it stores SingersID, BookID (from Songs Database), Key, Tempo (not used yet), and SongDate (date song was selected last).
It could be possible then that the corruption is in your Songs Database instead of the Singers Database. Did you do a Rebuild after copying the KMA files to the new drive?
I should have thought about it and had you send me a copy of your Singers Database before you corrected it, so I could look at it and see what happened. Twenty/Twenty hindsight.:t

Musicman144's loss of songs is a whole different ballgame as his "problem" was in Playlists and not the Singers Database. I suspect it was the same as JSN02 and not a program error. My wife has done this partly because the Skip and Delete button order was changed and she would hit Delete thinking she had hit Skip and the song would be gone. This change was added in 4.10 so is new to everyone.

My "problem" is only on the playlist. I do not use the skip and delete buttons on my show playlist. since i don't do karaoke, this is not necessary. This has occurred since Hoster 2.00, never know when a song will disappear as i use different songs to change the show regularly. But the skip or delete buttons are NOT the problem. I just have no idea. Have used Hoster 2. to 4.11, many different computers, same problem. I am pretty sure it is not a operators miscue.
