Hoster not working, need help ASAP

On my laptop I went to open Hoster 4.06.... and nothing, just a blank screen. I tried it two more times, same thing. rebooted... same thing. I then blew it away and reinstalled it. It opens with brown screen and large letters.. Hoster by MTU, then goes to dark screen. I've never had any trouble with Hoster or Laptop before. I only use the laptop for hoster. I have HP Pavilion 17", XP Home edition, two gigs of ram.

Thanks,
Ernie

I don't know what happened, but when I tried it again, and it went to the dark screen, I double clicked the dark screen and it opened. I exited out of Hoster and clicked it back on and it's like everything is normal again.

Hey Ermie,
This might be a good time to do some basic computer cleanup. Defrag your hard drive, run error-checking etc... I know I just had to on my test machine. :t :r :w :c

I had this happen once on my laptop and did pretty much same as you before I double clicked the screen for some reason.

No idea why it did it and has never done it again.

This has happened to me twice before but I knew exactly what caused it. I was mucking about with the video resolution settings the first time. The second time I was installing/re-installing the video card numerous times. I believe I didn't get it reseated properly.

Have no idea wat caused it. I only use the laptop for Hoster. If I had alot of other programs on it, or used alot of other programs on it, then I wouldn't be so concerned. Right now it's working great.

Ernie run the check disk and make sure the problem isn't with your hard drive.

Thanks Dale, I'll do that!
