Freeze up with Hoster 4.09D

Last night my wife had a freeze up (Hoster must close). She was doing nothing at the time, not even loading a song in the playlist. The last time things like this did appear was a while back in hoster 4.06, which seem to get cleared up in 4.08. Just a thought that maybe something might have leaked back in.

Anyone else experience this sort of thing "hoster must close" freeze-up with 4.09D.

My wife uses a 2.0gB ram shuttle with a 256 mb ram dedicated video card; all XP updates, etc., etc..

OK, I'm trying to deal with this, but we have no facts. Here's some example facts that could help us:

1. How long had you been running the show (just started, ran for 1.5hrs, end of 4hr show, etc.)?

2. What error message did you see?

3. What was the last thing you had done prior to the crash?

4. Did the room lights flick just before the crash?

5. When was the last time you defragmented your hard drive?

6. What Windows are you running?

7. How much RAM is in your computer?

8. How muc hard drive area is Virtual Memory given to?

I know when a lockup or crash happens, the first thing on your mind is "get the show up" and it should be. However, as soon as you can, jot down whatever you can, and back at home answer questions 5-8.

Our goal is zero crashes. With your help we can do this. :w

About 1 1/2 hrs. into the show.

2. What error message did you see? Hoster must close error

3. What was the last thing you had done prior to the crash? She was moving songs in the playlist, i.e., resetting the rotation.

4. Did the room lights flick just before the crash?
No, but there was a small earthquake outside the hall.
As a result, this put Hoster on "shaky ground".:):t:t:t:)
I couldn't resist.:):t:)
5. When was the last time you defragmented your hard drive? Very recently, do that often anyway.

6. What Windows are you running? XP sp3 all windows updates too.

7. How much RAM is in your computer? She uses a Shuttle PC with 2 gB ram and a 256 mB ram dedicated video card. Very, very rarely has anything go wrong with Hoster on this machine.

8. How muc hard drive area is Virtual Memory given to?
???????? I'll check later and see. How exactly do I do that? Can't remember.

She is quite adept at closing and reopening Hoster and understands its workings quite well. She wasn't a bit uncomfortable with the situation but was just so surprised that it DID happen.:e:)

I remember these type of crashes occurring randomly with my laptops (2 gB ram) during 4.06 but never saw them again in 4.08, that's why I thought something might have crept back in after it occurred on the Shuttle PC.
