Any Problems with .Net Framework 3.5?

Just finally gonna break down and install .net 3.5. Thought I might better chk with you guys to see if any problems have surfaced that you know of, just in case. All else on both cpus are uptodate. Been holding off on this one.

All my MTU programs do fine as of now, and all are current or near current versions except Hoster. Still using 3.316.

Tried several search word combos and got no hits. Anything I need to know or do in a general sense before pushing the OSHWG button?

Thanks.... Dave

There are no problems known with .net 3.5. But you sure are missing out on a bunch of new features and fixes by not upgrading Hoster as well.

.NET Framework Problem?

I have been running Hoster 4.8 and the songs take 15 seconds to start playing once you hit the play button. This does not happen with version 3.321.
I removed .Net Frameowrk and this seemed to solve the problem but I also removed my anti virus program at the same time so I am not sure which program was really causing the problem. I have to assume it was net framework because when I do my shows I have my anti-virus program disabled.

Maybe someone can advise. I have also submitted this problem as a ticket to support and they did not have a solution as of yet. It is NOT a problem with the HOster program.
Do I need .NET framework installed? I am not sure what it does and I am getting ready to move my Hoster to a new laptop

I have been running Hoster 4.08 with NET.Framwork 3.5 since it came out on my show machine and on my test machine with no problems. I use Avast Anti Virus (free for home use) and leave it open during my shows with no problems. I also leave Avast on when I test because my test machine stays online.

I hope this helps in some way.

Hey...

After starting this thread and getting yall's input and etc., I have had no problems showing up as a result of the .Net 3.5 dn/ld. As mentioned, I'm still using 3.316 version on my 3 year old Dell XPS l/t.

Not a push/ad for the a/v, but I've used BitDefender free since last Fall, and haven't noticed any related interference that way, either before or since the n3.5 install. I don't disable my a/v as Jim mentioned, but I do turn off the hourly auto update feature since I'm not online, etc., during a show.

Looking fwd to the upgrade here shortly to Hoster 4.8 or whatever current at the time.

Good group of people on these forums here. Thanks for all, people!

The full Norton's (don't remember what it is called) that has network protection, firewall, anti-virus and who knows what else has caused problems for people and slowing down is one of them. I use an older version with just the anti-virus part and have never had any problems with it.
The .net Framework is required for the installation program to work right. Did you remove all versions or just the 3.5? If you have at least 3.0 then you should be able to install anything that uses the Windows Installer.

I removed all versions and MTU support even called me on the phone wanting to know what version I uninstalled as they are having issues with net framework and Vista. I did not look to see which verison I uninstalled.
