question about hard drives
i'm in the process of upgrading my hhd, just bought 4 ext.500gb hhd for my laptops, 1 hhd to use and 1 for back-up for ea. of my laptop, now my question is if something happens to the show hhd, will i be able to just swap hhd w/o rebuilding? or do i have to rebuild.

As long as the drive letter shows the same and the folders are identical on both drives then no you won't have to rebuild the database.

billyo, i'm by no means an expert on this stuff. But i have 3 externals. My big WD MyBook, which is my security external. You've seen these, the big black heavy things. I keep that one at home. Then i carry two of those slim red WD Export usb hard drives for my shows. One i use, one i save for backup. Those two are identical, even the same color. Still i have to rebuild one, when downloading my new Chartbuster Monthly CD+G's. So, who knows. I know it's a pain, but i rebuild before every show. At my age, i can't remember which drive i used last..lol i know... i know.... :t
