KMA Folders

Just a quick survey.

I was wondering how everyone segregates thier KMA files in folders.

Me neither. All of my KMA file "live together" in one folder.

P.S. Just having a little fun Bob. :r :w :c

I don't even have them in a folder, they are the only files on the 2nd drive.

I am using 2 folders, 1 on my laptop with approx 5000 .Kma and 1 on external with about 9500 .kma.

The 5000 on my laptop are the most popular ones printed in my songbooks so I can do a show with just my laptop should I have any problems with ext. hard drive.

My full song list is displayed on a 2nd laptop for customers to search.

This way I can always have up to date song listings without having to keep reprinting my song books. :c:)

Good for you...your taking politically correctness to an extreme...

I keep mine in alphabetized folders....and for some that don't know how many that is....there's 26 of them.:g My backup drive I use folders by brand. This can be cumbersome when it comes time to rebuild the database.
I was thinking of dumping all in one drive but will leave well enough alone for now.

Thanks for the comments I was just curious how others organized their KMA's

Bob,
This is a good idea. Keeping all of your KMA files in one folder makes rebuilding the databse a breeze.

P.S. Mark will never let the opportunity to make a joke pass by. :w :c

I keep them all in one folder. It makes it easier to rebuild the database and it is also a lot easier to copy new files to my backup external hard drive and then over to my backup computer. All I have to do is go to the folder, after adding new cd-gs, and look for the newest date modified. Then simply select them, select copy and paste them to the external hard drive.:)
