4.08 Demo

Downloaded 4.08 demo and ran it, when i played a MPEG file through the insta button the preview screen would play the video as well, then I would get a error message saying hoster had to close, although it did not crash and just played through.
Downloaded and installed new codecs, and made the other required changes, re booted and opened 408 demo. Now does not crash but key changer when playing video distorts like a police man's whistle over the top of the music. Uninstalled the new video codecs and re installed AC3 Filter 1_51a and everything seems to work fine now.:?

Before installing the new codecs package did you uninstall any previous codecs as instructed on their (the codecs not MTU) page?
If you already have all the codecs you need and everything plays correctly you do not need to install that particular package. MTU's recommendation for that pack is that it has the latest video format codecs in case you need them.

Hi Douglass, I tried to run 4.08 without making any changes and thats when i had problems with error message, I did uninstall AC3 codecs as instructed by web site as it says it would conflict, after download the crash stopped but the key changer when playing video would distort, I cannot say if the problem was there before as i did not try the key changer. I also opend some sony software on my Sony VAIO and it said it neede the AC3 codecs to run, so I downloaded the latest AC3 Filter codecs and removed the others. Everything seems to work fine now. I have also noticed that when playing video through the insta buttons even when two displays (preview and Singers) it seems to use less CPU power. This is my Home computer I use with 3.316 Hoster installed so I will try the demo on my show computer later, which is using 4.06, or on my new laptop when it comes later in the week.:e

Any good set of codecs will work and if your other programs need the AC3 then use it. I am not sure why the other didn't work but if the AC3 does without problems then go with it. The Sony may need something slightly different from standard.
If you already have 4.06 on your show machine, then you don't need to run the 4.08 demo on it as it is straight from 4.06 with fixes and that was all that was done. Nothing drastically new was added. Look at the list of changes and fixes.
