Install On New PC

:) I currently have Hoster 4.08 on two laptops. I upgraded from 3.316, I believe. My question is if I uninstall hoster on one of them and install on a new pc, will I have to load both versions or simply install version 4.08?

That is true. In order for the Upgrade to allow installation it requires that a previous version be already installed.
When you remove the current installation, be sure and wait a least an hour or so to allow MTU's server time to reset your license.

Thanks. I just was not real sure. I have kept every install file I have ever downloaded so it will not be an issue.:c

When I first loaded Hoster 4.06 (upgrade) back in January on to my newly acquired Vista computer I had not got any previous version already installed on it. My only previous installation was on my old XP laptop. I now have version 4.08 on both computers and no problems so far.:g:)

New laptop = new programs?

I no longer have my old laptop.

I've stored my (hoster 3. something) on my external hard drive.
I now have a new laptop.

I've bought the newest Hoster upgrade.

Is my hoster 3 able to upgrade and run on my new laptop, or do I start over?

You are allowed to install Hoster on two computers. If you only installed Hoster 3.XX on your old laptop then you have one install left and it should work.

If it doesn't work you will have to submit a support ticket.

New laptop = new programs + problems

jim

I have 3.3.1.0 bought on july 2007.

I have paperwork saying I have 98 downloads remaining.

Then there is a link to down load but a comment saying the link has expired.

your turn.

ddouglass March 3rd, 2009 10:49 PM

There are no links for previous versions. Once MTU has released a new version, they remove the old links. This has been the policy from the beginning. This is why they say to save a copy of the setup file to a safe location.
If your new computer is Vista the version you have/had would not work on it anyway.
You can try downloading version 3.321 from the Support page of the MTU website, but I can't guarantee your license will allow it to install.

up grade hoops.

I just downloaded 3.321a to a cd.
I then went to run 3.321a from the cd and got an error message saying I cant because of Win 32 error.
Then went back to my Email link and tried to down load from there.
Error message pops up saying
C\Documents and settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp Internet Files\Content.IE5\9VJ7PIH0\hoster3321asetup[1].exc is not a valid Win32 application

ddouglass March 4th, 2009 09:13 PM

Go here and download. Save it somewhere else like your desktop. That way it won't get confused with the others.

? Win 32 blocks me.

okay I've now got it on cd and laptop desk top. and get the same pop up on both.

Not a valid win32 application.

My Laptop is XP pro.

ddouglass March 4th, 2009 11:56 PM

Are you getting the same exact error message?

If so delete this temp file because it has the wrong name. In fact if there are an other Hoster3321setup files in there delete them too. The file on your desktop should be hoster3321setup.exe.
