4.08 Possible Issue
:) I just ran a 7 hour show. I have been running 4.06 for a long time with no issues. Tonight with 4.08, Hoster shutdown with an error box once and several times during the night I had to restart songs that started dragging or skipping. It was strange. I am not totally convinced it is a Hoster issue. I just defragged the drive and I will do further testing tomorrow. Perhaps I should have restarted the computer after the Hoster shutdown. I will try running it on auto for a few hours prior to my show tomorrow night. I usually run mostly on manual though. If it is still doing it I will try going back to 4.06 and see if the problem goes away. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. If not, it is probably just my machine and hopefully just a fluke. If the problem is gone during testing tomorrow, great. If not I will try my backup machine as well.
Posting this post just in case someone else has had the issue and it is not my machine. XPHome with all updates done. |
Is this a laptop or desktop?
We ran a 4 hr show last night without a hitch. |
Laptop
:) It is a laptop. The defrag and restart may have fixed it. Looks like it may be good to go now. I ran a test with hoster running and even copied some files to my external backup drive while the test was running and never missed a beat. I should have done all this before opening a thread. Just paranoid after installing the new version.:g

Watch it during the next show and see if it is a case of slowing down as you go along in the time.

Problem Fixed
I just ran a 7 hour show with my backup laptop and 4.08 is the bomb. The issues I had with double clicking on audio files and to add songs to the playlist are gone in this version. The issues in this thread were my computer. Fantastic job MTU.:g

how do i uninstall
Quote:
Dale, this is ed again. I bought a new laptop with more than enought ram. I cant seem to uninstall my hoster lite. I have tried 3 times and I get error 1706 I have had to do a system restore to get things right twice. I think i'll just uninstall from the old computer and try to reinstall 4.08 to the new and if mtu doesnt give me the update from my present 4.03 so I can get the 4.08 at no charge then I'll just have to pay for a fresh download of 4.08 to get going. I went out and bought the new computer 2 ghz proc. and 3 gig ram with all the specs met that hoster requires of a vista computer. I have spent hours but i think uninstalling is best at this point. How do I do it? Ed |

which hoster lite did you buy, from what i read you can install the hoster lite into just 1 comp.if you bought the duo, thats the one that you can install into 2 comp.if i'm not mistaken you can just ignore the error 1706 and install the upgrade, you must be on line to uninstall, that way mtu can see it, you have to have a prior version of hoster lite in order to upgrade, i think you can go to add/ removed program to uninstall ..then you can re-install it back to your new comp, then upgrade..or on your old comp, i think you can go to download site and from there just click on removed instead of upgrade ..you must be on line if youre going that route.. |

Get the download for 4.08 Lite at http://download.mtu.com/download.htm#VideoHoster Click on the Lite version download button and then Save the download. In the future Ed please only post your questions in one thread, preferably one started by you. We will not get to you any faster if you post the same question in multiple locations. |
