Missing in 4.08

I just downloaded 4.08 and so far so good. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The Master Volume Slider is listed on the Web Page but I don't see it. Also it states that songs can be previewed in the Search Dialog if you have two audio ouputs. It doesn't show up but could this be it won't show if you don't have two audio outputs?

i might be jumping the gun here, i think thats what it is, you have to have 2 audio output in order to preview a song, you wont be able to preview a song with just one output..

We had a Volume controller through 14 beta tests. It worked perfectly for me and many of our testers. However, a few have audio cards that prevented it from working. Nothing we did would overcome these deficiencies, so I removed the slider. We haven't had one before, we still don't have one.

The Preview play in the Search dialog was there for most of the Beta versions also. It also was affected by these "non-standard" audio cards. Versus having it work for some users, and those few with errant systems lambasting MTU for releasing poor code that doesn't work on every computer in the world, I made the decision to remove it.

Clearly our web site had already been updated with both of these, which we expected to ship. I'll update it right now.

Both features will reappear in a future release. We have 98% of the code already written and tested. We just need more time to solve that last 2% due to problems created by other's software drivers not working as expected. :r

Supporting Vista was THE worst business decision I have made in 40 years. We have done it, and now Microsoft is replacing it FOR PROFESSIONALS (versus home users) with Windows 7.

You removed these after 4.07 was released. Why did you put them back on your web when you released 4.08 if you had dropped them?
