You can play them as bin files, other than that download this free program, it wont name them for you from the internet but it will convert them direct to zips.

Or get Songverter to convert them. Microstudio only imports as pure .BIN files with no compression.

hi Dennis, I imported a cdg file as a bin to my computer than moved the file to the program that plays the files and it didn't even recognize what was in the file. Sorry for the ignorance but how do you play a bin file.

Not all programs will play BIN files. Hoster will but many of the others can't. A BIN file is the same as the file directly off of the CDG disk. What you need is actually a MP3+G ZIP file.
If your program doesn't have an integrated rip program included with it maybe it is time to move up to a better program like Hoster.

Roy that program is not free. It is $69. The free download has limitations.

Hi Dale
I think you are looking at the song book program, that's $69. The ripper is free with the limitation that you can not use the songbook to name the files but you can name the files with the CDDB data base or fill them in manually. I have this ripper and it works fine, I have the songbook also so I use that to name the files. I downloaded it to a friends computer who has not got the song book and he is still using his.
Why not try it yourself ? It won't cost you anything.

ddouglass February 18th, 2009 01:01 PM

You are right about the price.
I don't need to try it as I have Hoster which will do the ripping for me.:g

Carl

What program are you trying to play them in?
Is it an MTU product as this forum is for their products and you posted the question in the Microstudio Help forum.

If it's in Microstudio vers. 4.006 as I have, after inserting your disk press the Cd button under Karaoke, the tracks then show in the left window, highlight the ones to play then click the + button to move them to the right hand window and press play. If you are trying to play them from where they are stored on your hard drive use the files button and brows to the folder.

Hi the program is pcdj fx

Carl

Roy Dennis February 18th, 2009 03:04 PM

Then I can not help you. Why don't you ask on the site of the program or look at MTU products.
If you just want to play karaoke for your own amusment on a computer then try Microstudio. You can try a trial version before you buy.
