display on TV

I just bought hoster lite 4.06. I have it loaded on a HP pc with vista home os. My video card is NVida Geforce6150SEnForce430. I need to know how to get the display on the tv. It comes up on the monitor instead. I have done everything in the troubleshooting and haven't fixed it. When i right click on the desktop per instruction only one monitor shows up. Do I need a different video card and if so which one. Thank you
Judy

is your pc capable of dual display ? make sure the tv is on prior to powering up your pc, click on control panel, then click on appearance and themes, click on display, then settings, click on #2 monitor then click on extend.. then apply /ok ,once you did all these steps, open hoster drag the singers display to the tv, make sure you drag the singers screen to the tv,and resize your viewer screen first before you play a song.

note : have you done all the necessary changes on vista prior to installing hoster ?, and also make sure you do all the custom updates, if not hoster wont run right.

There should be a Nvidia software installed on your computer. Open it and set the monitor settings so it can see the 2nd monitor. This is overriding the Windows Display control.
Also, you need to follow the instructions on this page http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster/v...de-hoster4.htm to set up your computer for correct operation of the program.

Well, I found out my video card is input only so I have to get a new card. I have found a EVGE GeForce7200gs 128mb DDRZ 512mb w/turbocache DVI VGA TV out at Tigerdirect. Can anyone tell me if this will work with hoster?
Thank You.
Judy.

Judy this card should work, but one with 256MB or 512MB (the first number) would be better. Future upgrades of Hoster are requiring more video memory than the current ones. Be sure that it has an RCA or S-Video plug along with the VGA plug on the back, so you can use a TV as secondary monitor.
I should have researched this better on your initial post. The only way you could use the original video would be to use two computer monitors (1 analog and digital with DVI input). A TV will not work with the on-board video.
You may have to go into the Bios and disable the on-board video after you put the new card in and get it set-up.

Help getting your monitor up

Hi, I too am a vista user and trust me this is a little more trouble than it's worth but try this. Right click on the blank part of your screen and then a window will appear go to personalize and another window will appear then at the bottom it will say display and settings double left click and the next window that comes up will have the number 1 and the number 2 in boxes. Click once on the number 2 and this will be your monitor make sure the color is set at 16bit and that your resolution is above 800 make sure you check the box that says extend the desktop onto this monitor click apply and ok.

Rockin D her problem isn't getting it set-up. It is that her on-board video card does not have any outputs other than the computer monitor output.

Thank you Dale. How about the EVGA Force9500GT?

Looks to me to be the ticket. It does have 512MB of memory and should do the trick.

Be careful when updating driver, I have a nvidia GForce 8600 GT and after updating driver it would only allow me to use HD TV's. I had to roll back driver as all places I do shows don't have HD TV's.

OK guys I got a Gforce8400 video card. I changed the settings to "extend the desktop onto this monitor", clicked apply and ok. I restart the computer. The display starts on the TV, not my main monitor, then when it gets to login & password it reverts back to the main monitor. I open Hoster and the second display is still on the main. I cannot get it on to the TV. I go back to display settings and the #2 monitor says "inactive. I'm lost. What do need to do now?

the second needs to be set to active.

How do I set it to active. I have left clicked on it, double left clicked on it and right clicked on it and find nothing to activated it. I went to the Nvida control panel where you can set dual displays. When it is on single display my monitor and TV show up but when I change it to clone the TV does not show. I forced it and restarted but still the same. Any suggestions?

Beavis January 27th, 2009 11:04 AM

right mouse click on your desktop and select properties, make sure you do not have the mouse on an icon. on the tab that says settings click it. it should be right there Extend your desktop.
