bad registration code

The registration code they sent me doesn't work. Has any one else had this problem. I made the long distance call but got to talk to nobody. Guess I found the customer no service land line. Open for suggestions. I have emailed them more than once. Thanks to all that respond :?

sorry

Forgot to say I have Host 3.319 and bought the update for Hoste 4.06 :s

madjim- with the Lord December 11th, 2008 04:03 PM

Go to http://mtu.com and log on to your account and see if it shows the same number you are having problems with.

Also since you purchased an upgrade, 3.319 has to be on your computer for the install to work.

I hope this helps.

When you say the reg code doesn't work, what is the message that pops up?

BTW, where in Missouri?

butchfer December 12th, 2008 11:22 AM

Strange, that is what you would get if you didn't have a previous version installed. Are you sure you have 3.319 installed on this machine you are trying to upgrade? My suggestion would be to do the free upgrade to 3.321a then try to re-install 4.06. Go to the linked page I provided. At the bottom of the pretty pink box is where you will find the upgrade link. You must have bought Hoster after May 30th 2006 for this to work.

Yes, I'm in Joplin. The Southwest corner of the state. About 3 1/2 hours west on I-44. The reason to do the upgrade first was that the file location had to be moved because of Vista. When it was checking for an upgrade, it was looking in the wrong place.

It's been a while since somebody has reported this problem. I'm sorry I didn't suggest you upgrade to 3.321a first. :s

Thanks Mark

I did the upgrade to 3.321 It still won't work. I just keep getting the same message. If I'm having this much trouble getting it on XP Pro it must really be a bitch to get on Vista. Vista is on my second machine. I told them to give me my money back this isn't worth the hassel.

madjim- with the Lord December 13th, 2008 09:55 AM

You'll be missing out on a great program if you get a refund. :e They may have sent you code for a full install. Try this:

1. Unistall 3.XX

2. restart your computer

3. Install 4.06 using the code MTU sent you.

And of course you have to be online. :w

I'll be here all morning, let me know how it goes.

Sullivan,
I'm sorry you are having problems with your upgrade but it has nothing to do with the operating system. There is a mix up in your reg code somewhere. I have alerted the owner to your problem, it will be fixed I assure you.

I have run Hoster 4 at my shows since before it's release and it is well worth what you paid not to mention the feature that are being added to 4.10. I know woring with computers can be frustrating but please try to install 4.06 with no version of 3.XX on your machine, this may get you going.

If nothing else you will be better off with 3.321a. :w

Tryin' to help,

Jim :g

I'm sure that it is just something simple we are missing. Jim may be right, you may have inadvertently gotten a full install code. The other suggestion would be to un-install all versions and install just 3.321a. Then try the upgrade again. Make sure to set a Restore Point so you can step back if you need to.

I would hope you would reconsider. Just the singer's database alone, is worth all the hassles. And yes, Vista can be a bitch. The thing is, lots of people are having zero problems with Vista. You only hear about the horror stories because the success stories don't need to even use the forums. If it were me, I would use XP exclusively. I only use Vista to play around with, not do any REAL business with.

Guys even if it was a full license it should install without having to remove the previous version if it is the correct code.

Are you using Upgrade or Remove option to install the version 4? You have to use the Upgrade option with the older version still installed. If you use the Remove option (with an Upgrade code) it will give you that message because the previous version is no longer installed.

I understood that Dale, but since he seems to be getting nowhere I suggested he unistall 3.XX to see if it would help. I'm wondering if they accidentally asigned him code for a different program. They'll get him straight come Monday I'm sure. Sorry if I'm adding to the confusion. :s

Hey Mark, Doug, Jim, thanks for the help. I don't want to uninstall my 3 version. If I uninstall 3 and 4 still doesn't work Im out of luck. They sent me the link with the code already in it but deoesn't work. I've jumped through their hoops now it's time to stop. Thanks again guys for your assistance.

ddouglass December 13th, 2008 07:00 PM

Have you logged into your account and checked the number there?
On the first page will show what programs with versions you own plus the registration codes including the Upgrade codes.
Did you reply to their email to tell them it didn't work?
When you say you emailed the was this using their Support Email form on the Support page of the web site?
Don't give up after such a short time, when all the new features are so cheap compared to anyone else. You will not find a better program that Hoster and it is getting better. Beta testing is on going for the next release that will add even more and for those who own any of the new version 4.0s it will be a free upgrade.

Hey Sullivan,
You are more than welcome, but please let me assure you of a couple of things. First off, If you are going to stay with Hoster 3, you should upgrade to and use Hoster 3.321a, MTU does not recommend using 3.319 anymore plus the upgrade is free.

There is a copy of Hoster 3.40 included with the install of Hoster 4.06 which is 3.321a but it runs with your Hoster 4.06 data. If you are running your show and Hoster 4.06 does something you don't like, you just open Hoster 3.40 and carry on. No matter what happens with you and Hoster 4.06 you will be able to install Hoster 3.321a if you choose not to use 3.40, you paid for Hoster 3.xx and you will always be able to use it.

If you get all of the recommended windows updates and drivers for your system you will be very happy with Hoster 4.06. The time you spend getting these updates is a good investment in Hoster 4. I'm sure you will love running your shows with it, it's an awesome program. :w

Buy purchasing Hoster 4.06 now, you are buying it at a discounted price that will not be available for long. Like Dale said we are testing 4.10 right now which will be a major upgrade and it will be free to you since you bought 4.06. Even if you didn't use Hoster 4.06, you will save money because of this fact. I just tested the ability to load a KMA file, a video file and an MP3 file from a jump drive in the latest beta and it worked like a charm. :c

If you want a refund of course MTU will accomodate your request but I hope Dale, Mark and myself have shown you that you made a very smart move by upgrading now and what's comming in the future versions of Hoster is a karaoke host's dream come true.

MTU is a very small company that provides the best karaoke software on the planet. There is only one support person and he has been swamped thanks to all of the problems that Vista is causing. As a matter of fact. Vista has delayed Hoster 4's development by eight months. :e When they get in the office tomorrow, the folks at MTU will take care of your RegCode issue.

I hope you choose to let us help you get going, you won't regret it.

Jim :g

Yes I am having the same problem trying to upgrade from 3.21a to 4.06. Can't get any phone calls or help from MTU. I love the Hoster software, but this is getting very frustrating. I have tried what they are saying on my Windows XP version and Vista, neither work. I get the same error code you are getting.
