CD skipping

I'm having trouble playing a CD on my laptop. The sound is all garbled. A few weeks ago I tried to copy a CD/DVD that had some encription which would not allow me to do it. Ever since that time, I've had this problem.

I can import and export songs with no trouble when using Microstudio and iTunes, but cannot play a CD on itunes or Windows Media Player without the song being garbled.

I cannot add a singers disc while playing a Hoster song, because the hoster song that is playing will be garbled.

Any help will be appreciated.

For one thing ITunes and all it's associated software is a real memory hog. When you are running Hoster be sure to turn off all related to ITunes.
I don't think this had anything to do with the attempt to copy an encrypted CD, but just a coincidence.

I cannot run a CD without skipping when no other programs are open except Windows Media Player. The same thing happens when running iTunes. Again, I have no problem importing or exporting music. When I solve this problem, I'm confident that it will solve the Hoster problem of adding a singers CDG.

Check w/HP Support, this may be a problem with the dma settings on your CD/ROM Drive.....

Thanks CAPVIC. That solved the problem. I uninstalled the "Primary IDE" and when it re-installed itself, everything was OK.

THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!
