Duplicate bookid issue

I made a major boneheaded move. I imported my CD’s to two different HD’s from two different machines. Then I copied the KMA files from one HD to another and rebuilt my DB on my show PC. Now I have several duplicate book ID’s. Does anyone know of a way to change the book ID’s or re-import the KMA files so the software reassigns a non-duplicate book ID? Or will I have to re-import all of these from CD again?

Run the Add instead of Rebuild for the database. That will take all the duplicates and reassign them a new BookID.

Dale,
I have 52 songs in the Duplicate Book ID's in BuildsongDBLog.txt.. If I tick ADD, will Hoster put them back into the system with new Book ID's?

Thanks,
Ernie

That's the way it is supposed to work. I had ten or so that I had to re-import because they had given me an error and they were also listed in the duplicate list, so if that is what happened then no it won't work. Only one way to find out....try it.

I found that if more than 2 songs end up with the same bookid, then the merge/add doesn't work. It happened to me when I was first starting out & had a couple different places I was importing to then brought them all into the same folder.

i guessed you're are right, i have a few songs ( same songs )on a diff. drives when i did the merge/add , and when i did a search, i got an error " song not found " or something..

I did try the ADD and it didn't work!!

I think we had this discussion before Ernie and these files had errors other than being a duplicate. You will have to re-import those to correct them.
