RS RF Amplifier

Some of you have mentioned using a Radio Shack RF Amplifier for splitting your signal to multiple TVs. Can someone tell me the Model Number of this , so I can find it on their website?

www.cablestogo.com has the stuff you're looking for, kinda expensive though, radio shack has a limited amount of video amplifiers..

That one won't work Beavis. The club has their satellite plugged in on the coax. Need to have RCA out instead.

:) Dale I use one from Walmart. It cost 25 or 30 dollars or so but has several outputs and inputs. I could not find it on their site to give you a model number. I will take a look at it later in the week and get that info to you if you still need it. I use an s-video input for the output from my pc and then I output with coax to 5 TVś and with RCA cables to my singers TV on stage.

:)The PC to TV converter I purchased from Radio Shack was a Gigaware
the Radio Shack reference number is 25-233. It was around $90.00

It connects to the PC in the monitor connection. (the laptop I needed it for did not have an S-video out I did not know it at the time I purchased it and Best Buy would not let me exchange it - needless to say that was the last laptop I will buy at Best Buy and the last laptop I buy that does not have S-video).

It also has a USB connection that gives the unit power. It has a video (RCA) output and a S-video output. I have split to as many as four TV's through the video output and it works great.

Dale, The one Laddie uses is the same one that I use and works wonderful. (Because of location I also run two TV's off one of the output (running one line and splitting)). All other TV's and singer's monitor run one per line.:)

Thanks guys and gals. I appreciate all the help. Laddie I think the one you use is what I need. Now I have to go see if our little podunk town's Radio Shack has one.:f
I only have one TV giving me fits and it is the singer's monitor and it only loses sync (the picture not the lyrics) with Country Hits discs. It has to be the oddball combination of colors they use for the background and lyrics that drives it wild.:e I am hoping this will solve it, but I am not 100% sure it will.

Dale,

Double check the connections that you will need! If I remember right, that amplifyer doesn't allow mixing s-video input with rca output. Can't mix the cables, so your input cable has to be the same as what you run to the tv that is giving you the problem, and adapting the connection may dilute the signal again!

I've been using a S-Video splitter to run direct to HD TV, and then adapting to RCA through an amplifyer for longer coax runs to multiple TV's

Mine are all RCA connections from mixer out to TVs, so no problem there. The only S-Video is from PC to RCA on mixer.

I only run sound through the mixer, and video from the s-video port on laptop, outputting to multiple tv's. I never had a problem with diluted signal, until the bars upgraded with satellite and High Def TV's. So now it's trying to keep the signal strength, so the graphics appear sharp. S-Video for short runs, and amplifying for longer runs ( coax because s-video cable is very expensive for long runs. )

I use a Vocopro mixer that allows me to switch from computer to player for singer's discs and backup if the computer messes up. It switches both audio and video. One slider and everything is switched.

That too was what I did prior to Hoster and the computer age! Lost a hard drive about a year ago, and had to pull my player out of mothballs, and went crazy trying to run a couple of shows using discs and old Vocopro mixer/amp again!

My Geek friend that helps me with computer was on vacation, so I went 60 miles to Tucson, to Geek Squad for help! They told me that the hard drive was fried, and that I should get another computer ( Sales ). Well I went down the street to someone I found in the Yellow Pages and they put in a new hard drive, saved all my programs, and had me out the door in 2 days, so I only had to do 2 shows with discs ( Never say Never, but I don't think I will ever use my back up discs or 2 players in a show again, as long as I can afford to have a backup laptop with Hoster! ), all my shows are 1 to 20 minutes from home, so backup is my home laptop ( no s-video output so I went the Radioshack Gigaware pc/tv adapter route ) and can be retrieved with just a little break if computer crashes during a show.

I carried around a box with 2 players, and the HEAVY Voco-Pro mixer/amp too long, and when I found out I could run a show with a laptop, and a 5 pound mixer ( I use a Bose speaker system that has the amp built in ) I jumped in head first, even though I was worried being computer challenged, whether the computer would crash, or I would hit the wrong button and the program would be erased. Best investment I have ever made!!!! Love Hoster, and my old back is being saved as we speak!

Just trying to be patient while MTU gets program back on solid operating ground. I'm running XP with 4.05 but can't run in AUTO mode which I prefer during show, as I run cordless mic's around the room to give more people the courage to try karaoke, without making them come up on a stage.

Dale,
Just out of curiosity, what model Vocopro mixer are you using?

ddouglass October 8th, 2008 02:51 PM

It is a KJ-7808RV and works great.
