Question For VCD users only
My question is for anyone who uses Karaoke Videos and has installed 4.05.
I put 4.05 on my XP and it plays videos the same way as 4.04 did - they come up with the Vocals playing (so 3.4 is needed to turn off Vocals). I put 4.03 on my Vista, and the Videos come up without the vocals playing (which is what is needed for singers to sing with) so 3.4 is not needed during a show to turn off the vocals. 1 question for Admin - Why do the different versions play videos differently? This says to me that I should continue to run my Shows with 4.03 on Visata so that I can still play videos without having to revert to 3.4 to do so. |

Hey Sky, I'm sure Admin will answer you, this is what I know. MTU is working on a way to make the MUX buttons work with video which should be in the next release. They are on it I promise you. You do what you have to do until the MUX buttons are fixed. Sounds like Hoster 3.4 is doing it's job. :w (3.40 will be gone one day. :e :r :c) I know you know I don't have any MUX videos, I just want to share what I know. Thanks Jim :g |

By importing, if you mean how I transferred them to the HD from the Disk - I simply copied & pasted the files using Windows Explorer (some .dat & some .mpg). Also, they are on the same ext. drive that I keep my kmas on, so both XP & Vista read the same file when adding them to the Playlist. (It's beginning to look like a computer quirk:c:r) |

i imported them into my int. drive as a dat.file, ( just like importing regular cd's )and i have all my kmas on seperate ext. drive.. i got xp home 250gb int.hhd, ( 2 ) 250 gb ext. drive and (1) 500 gb..have all the updates except for sp3 |
Videos on XP - I do have SP3, but am still using WMP-9. Are you using WMP-11? (maybe that's the difference:?)

Vocals still play with WMP-11
I upgraded WMP-9 to WMP-11. No change!!!:r
4.05 on XP (with all updates & WMP-11) - vidoes play with vocals. 4.03 on Vista - videos play without vocals (preferred for singers) Any other ideas?:? Sorry, but little things like this really bug me:c |

I'M HAPPY:g |
4.05 & 3.4
:rI said before that vocals play with videos on XP (but not Vista)
This may be of interest to someone:c While Videos play with vocals on 4.05 ................... on 3.4 the same video plays without vocals. This is just the opposite of what it does on Vista:r. |

i don't have an explanation for that, but all i know is when you use wmp to play vcd on xp you will be getting the vocals with it, caused i have tried it...have you tried using the hoster video tab, i have been using it since hoster first came up with the video program. and never had a problem..as a matter of fact i am playing one right now..and also when you use the wmp are you able to drag the video to the viewer screen?.. |
Oh - I misunderstood you completely:s I thought you were asking if WMP was the default player on my system.
I always ADD videos from the Video tab on the main screen to the Playlist. But Hoster obviously uses WMP in the background or it wouldn't matter what version we have.:c I have only been talking about how Hoster plays videos differently on my XP and Vista machines. |
I believe that 4.03 was when they went back to the old player and then went to work getting the new player to work right (sync, etc.). This may be the difference because they have not gotten the MUX to work on the new one.
The problem with the old one is videos weren't showing correctly. |
DALE,
THANKS for explaining about the old vs. new player. That makes sense now why 4.03 & 4.05 differ on when vocals play with videos. It was driving me crazy trying to figure out what I might have done. |
