upgrades
just tried to upgrade and i am having problems with the registration # matching, i already email support.my question is do you need to uninstall the old version in order to upgrade and to get a new reg. #? got the answer from reading the requirements...have to buy the new version first to get a new reg. #.. ..instead on just downloading..just having problems with my email add & password..

You only need to uninstall old version (on-line) if you are moving to a different computer. Otherwise, just upgrade. Your e-mail address must match what MTU has on file as what you used when you purchased Hoster. I had that problem when I changed e-mail addresses. I had to update my Account first & then my new e-mail address was recognized when I upgraded.

i thought i had done that ( update my email address )..tried just upgrading but it didnt work..but anyway i think i'll stay with my old version, due to cd/dvd drive problem ( see post demo version ) |
It took a while for my new e-mail address to be recognized. So, I used my old address & it accepted it. The next time, it accepted my new one:?
I don't understand why Hoster won't recognize your CD drive. Did you do the Test and Save in Tools? I've had to do that more than once to get it to recognize my drive and maintain that setting. I don't mean to over-simplify, but sometimes computers seem like "little kids".:t I will set the computer to do something & it just won't do it. Then on the third try, all of a sudden, it does what I tell it to.:r |

Hoster not recognizing your drive is one thing. But, when there is an "exclamation point" next to it in Device Manager, then it is a computer-related problem, not "software". MTU can't fix that.

Sorry I don't have an answer for that, but it could just be a coincidence. Maybe the driver need updating to handle the software:r
Hoster recognizes my drive, but it's a Matshita LightScribe that simply won't recognize CDGs. It will only upload audio. |

This is a known bug, the fix is from MS. Various softwares trigger it and apparently the demo version of Hoster triggers it. I have had to use this fix each time a new version of the demo has come out. (starting with 4.0) and it only does it on my dell machine. I have had other software installs do the same thing, sound forge 9 is a good example. So if you wait for MTU to fix it, it might be a long wait. |
