SND not appearing on intermission view
My wife always keeps her Shuttle Computer screen at 1280 x 1024, and her video card only allows her to set her secondary screen to 1024 x 768. The only thing she has had to deal with is the fact that some songs that have lyrics that go right to the edge of the screen may be slightly cut off at the edges of the secondary monitor; it has happened, but rarely. that's ben okay.
Now, with 4.04, on the intermission screen, the video portion is slightly cut off at the bottom as expected, the marquis shows clearly, but the SND is completely gone. You would think although the video is cut off just a little the SND would still show as usual, but it does not. Somehow the cutting off of the video part due to the difference in resolution doesn't allow the SND to show up at all. My wife likes her resolutions this way, her VDJ program only takes up 2/3 of her monitor, as does Hoster, and it gives her room to put notepad sidelists of the rotation on the screen in easy view. Is there any way to make it so the different resolutions can be used and still be able to see the SND screen. She doesn't mind the slight "cutting of the video" on the secondary, but would like to see the SND display on the bottom, too, as she does see the marquis on top.:) |

Your're in full screen mode, correct? I never run with the show display in full screen mode (I don't double click it). :e I make sure that my destop has a gif (or jpeg) up that has a black backbround. I use a black background on all of my screens. I move the show display to the TV and manually resize the window to fit the screen. I have to change it every week due to the new HDTV one place bough. Manually reaizing your show display should alow your wife to make the show display fit here monitor at any resolution. It also adds a nice border. :w I hope this helps. Jim :g |
I just remebered that I saw this bug in a past beta and they fixed it. Must have gotten jerked around a little too much. They fixed it once... :w :c
Getting Hoster 4 developed has been a rough ride for eveybody but the end results are awesome! After getting my singers used to the Singers Database and seeing the estmated time they sing, I could never go back to any version of Hoster 3, they would kill me! :e I appreciate you Bryant, hope this helps. 1. What font are you using in the SND? If it is Arial Black, that is a faulty font that doesn't have the "height" parameter for the characters. It won't size vertically as a result. 2. In the Show Display Video VJ View, do you have the "Graphic" middle section set to "STRETCH"? If not, do so. This tells Windows to automatically adjust your "graphic image" (lyrics, video, graphic jpg/gif, etc.) to fill the AVAILABLE SCREEN AREA that is allocated to the Graphic area... Marquee and SND cut into that available area if they are enabled. |

I'm really winging it here, but it's almost seems like the SND is somehow attached on to the bottom of the graphics area, and when a little gets cut off at the bottom of the graphics(due to resolution change), the entire SND goes with it. Oh, in my prwvious messages, I did mean to say "Graphics" area, not video area. |

What I was saying that when I set my computer screen to 1280 x 1024 (so there is more room on the computer monitor for other stuff (notepad column for rotation, DJ program, etc) and the TV monitor at 1024 x 728 (that's as high as my video card takes it), I ONLY SEE the marquis and the Graphics area, NO SND area at all on the TV. It shows on the preview screen, however. So it is virtually there. I've tried all fonts, all sizes of fonts, have view on "Stretch", etc. The only thing that makes then SND show up with the rest in the intermission view is that BOTH monitors are set at the same resolution. |
Once I'm cleared for take off, I'll try to recreate this.

Dale, George, others, do you know anything about this? |
What kind of video card is it? Have you tried a different driver?

Resolution Solution? Not Realy.
Hey Bryant Just a Shot in The Dark but is the TV an LCD. If So it may be what is limited to 1024 X 768 also known as 720p for HD.
Hope this helps. Chuck |

Jim, You were right on your previous post; I did NOT double click, resized instead, then used those little border lines you speak of. All is well now. However, I always double-clicked before and NEVER lost lyrics from the bottom of the TV screen before when using those two resolutions, now I lose the WHOLE SND area from the bottom of the intermission view. I am hoping someone can explain this to me?:r |
