4.04 show display window
 

hi i just downloaded 4.04 and installed it and i have a question about the show display window. When opening hoster when the window is in the locked position it seems that part of the screen is cut off. it dosen't fill the black box completely but if i play a song and hit stop this is corrected. Is this suppose to work like this? The window stays corrected until i close hoster and reopen it, then the window seems cut off again until i start another song at which point it corrects itself again

In the Singer Name Display on the preview display, there is a blank space at the bottom that is a known harmless bug that will be fixed down the road.

Hi madjim i have attached a screen shot of this. it is the preview window at the top left, you can see it dosen't fill the window completely but if i either click on the show display tab then close it or start a song this is corrected until i close and re-open hoster, this glitch then occurs again. i will attach a second screen shot of what it looks like after i either start a song or open and close the show display tab. setup looks like it maybe wrong change font sizes.

Thank your for posting the screen shots. I use XP and have never seen this. Something like this was repoerted by one vista beta tester so I'm sure MTU worked in this area. This will be fixed in 4.05.

Uh Jim... as an honored user and Beta Tester (not MTU Employee)... you can't commit what will/won't be fixed. :f

We're reading these forums and I've asked one of our programmers to review this report. :w

We are VERY UNHAPPY with Vista. It has cost us about 10 man-months of time futzing with it, and thrown us way off schedule for new features.

I won't commit at this time as to what VISTA ONLY problems we will spend more time on. The PROBLEM is that Microsoft didn't deliver a working VISTA Operating System. We are 100% convinced that no amount of programming can fix the problems with Vista. Thus, we are unlikely to fix EVERY Vista problem. :r

I'm sorry, let me rephrase that.

"I believe that MTU will fix this in the next beta."

My confidence level in you guy is high, sorry again for assuming. :s :s :s :s :s

What you believe may not always be in the company's plan. You should always check and confrm with them first.

I am also having problems with 4.04
 

I just updated from 3.316 to 4.04 using XP Pro and now my show display does not display at all. I see no lyrics. Does any body know what is going on? Or, how can I revert back to 3.316. I have a show to do on saturday and I can't get a hold of tech support

Simple answer - Did you check all the new Display Options? It can be set to Always On. Also, there are separate settings for Lyrics, Intermission & other views. The Manual also gives step by step instructions. If things just don't work, then post back & someone will give you more detailed instructions.

also under options try the set defauts or reset display and if you are in setup areas click apply to make them happen. and yes 4.03 comes with 4.04

4.04 & 4.03 are 2 separate programs. 4.04 seems to work best with XP and many people are using 4.03 for Vista.
Both come with 3.4 which is the same as 3.321a (which can be used instead of or at the same time, and can be used when having any problems with 4.04 or 4.03). 4.05 will be the next upgrade to fix current reported problems.

Thanks guys, yes, when I got home last night I just happened to go to 'Tools' > 'Option' and dis the "reset defaults" and suddenly my display appeared. By the way, does any one know how to get rid of or change the "This show is hosted by MTU....." banner that scrolls accross the top?

That's called the "Marquee". The button is located under the Preview screen on the left. You can type whatever you want into it.

You may want to familiarize yourself with the Manual since there are so many new features & buttons. There is a large picture of the Hoster screen & you click anywhere on it & it will come up with a detailed explanation of everything you want to know.

Thank You! You've been so helpfull. I will try not to post anymore questions unless I can't find the answer in the Manual. I did not know that the manual was interactive. Can't wait to get home and check it out. I've been using V3.316 for the last cuple of years and love it. So simple! I also love the new features in 4.04 and can't wait to get it all figured out and set up. Again, Thanks!
